Should Doug Hoffman had waited and let all the votes be counted?
I’m certainly not a fan of taking election counts to the courts, but maybe Doug Hoffman should have let all of the votes be counted before conceding.
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi quickly got Bill Owens (D- N.Y.) down to Washington D.C. and swore him in within a few days so he could break his first campaign promise and vote to include a public option for health care. To be fair, Owens was against the public option early in the campaign, only to quietly reverse his opinion in the last few days.

Owens was possibly sworn in under false pretenses so it still may get interesting if the votes are there for the Hoffmeister.

Speaking of Collin’s healthcare reversal, he was just chosen as one of the expendable by Pelosi. I don’t really think he expects to win in 2010 and return to the House.

I believe the votes would control. They haven’t been certified yet. Regardless of a Congressional swearing in and a concession ... NY hasn’t determined it’s Congressman yet till all the votes are counted and certified.
Then the lawyers will argue.

Hoffman ahead by 5,000 votes and has had the voting machines impounded. He asks the Democrats and Owens to concede so Hoffman can be sworn in by Pelosi so he can vote against the health care bill.
What are the chances that Owens would concede?

I don’t understand the “stupid” comments. If Hoffman wins the election when all votes are counted then he still wins the election. A concession speech has no force of law.
How could Owens be seated with out the election being certified??? This smells like a RAT.
We've got to assume that the marxists will do ANYTHING to win, they have no limit to how low they will stoop. We don't have to do that but we do have to see every vote counted accurately, and we must question even slight discrepancies. If a lib poll worker picks her nose I'll assume she is hiding ballots in it!
That’s a good question. When I heard he was sworn in, I thought it was over ... and certified.
The Dems have taken the concession as victory. I wonder what will happen to this in the courts if a different winner is certified. You know it will end up there, ala Franken.
I will not patronize people who want me to read their stuff if they don’t care enough to edit what they writed.
