CNN Poll: Most Americans say Palin not qualified to serve as president (CNN pushes Romney, Huckster)
CNN - Political Ticker ^ | 2009-11-16

Posted on 11/16/2009 2:27:41 PM PST by rabscuttle385

WASHINGTON (CNN) – Fewer than three in 10 Americans think Sarah Palin's qualified to be president, according to a new national poll - the least of any of the five potential candidates included in the survey.

But another woman tops that list in the CNN/Opinion Research Corporation survey released Monday: two-thirds of the public thinks that Secretary of State HIllary Clinton's qualified for the Oval Office. That's more than Vice President Joe Biden, who's currently next in line for the presidency.

According to the poll, 28 percent of Americans say Palin is qualified to run the White House, with seven in 10 saying the former Alaska governor and 2008 Republican vice presidential nominee is not qualified.

The survey indicates that a majority of Republicans, 54 percent, feel Palin is qualified, with 44 percent indicating she isn't. But only 29 percent of independent voters questioned feel she is qualified to serve as president, with 68 percent disagreeing. According to the poll, nine in 10 Democrats feel Palin is not qualified.

The poll's release comes one day before the release of Palin's book, "Going Rogue: An American Life."

"The perception that Palin is not qualified to be president puts her significantly behind two potential rivals for the GOP nomination in 2012 - Mitt Romney and Mike Huckabee," says CNN Polling Director Keating Holland.

You can tell the candiate that really scares them, it's the one they ridicule the most.

CNN want's to split the Conservatives from the Republican Party.

I am sick to death of Romney and the love feast the MSM has with him. That alone is enough to disqualify him from the Republican Party.

They’re big on Rat Romney. I actually have a feeling that Huckabee won’t even run, but Romney wants it so bad he can taste it and he’s got the money to buy it the way Bloomberg bought New York.

Still, I think many other candidates are going to emerge and these two will both be forgotten by then, regardless of the MSM’s dreams. Most people learned how well the MSM choses GOP candidates: after all, they gave us McCain.

Doesn’t surprise me, that is teh agenda they’ve pushed very effectively.

Of course, it’s very hard to see how Obama could be qualified if she isn’t.

And Biden is a well established idiot, despite his years in the Senate.

Governor Palin was much more qualified to run the Country than Obama and his ship of fools...

That's actually unfair to Mrs. Palin ... I essentially just said she was more qualified than raw sewage.
Let me rephrase my response - Governor Palin is qualified to be President and it would be a blessing if she were in office. Whether she wants the job, or not, I don't know.

Who commissioned the poll?

They always cover for who shells out the money for these polls, it’s a dirty little propaganda game they play.

Hey, CNN;

How ‘bout you nominate your Democratic candidates; and you allow us to nominate ours?

It wasn’t the RINOS that saddled us with McCain; we can thank the Democratic voters for nominating the worst possible man for our candidate.

Both of them can be unqualified. Which is my vote. When it comes time to cleaning up after Obama, we don't need another amateur.

Sarah Palin gave up her chance at being qualified when she quit as governor.

LOL. I guess if they had taken a poll in 2005 asking if Barack Obama was qualified to be President, they would have received similar numbers. If fact, they should run a poll today and find out how many people think that Obama is qualified to be President.

UH-HUH. Just like they pushed McCain and every other RINO.

CNN is so “helpful” to offer “advise” on the Republican party’s candidates.

Since CNN is the antithesis of everything Conservatives believe in,
hope they don’t mind if we ignore their “endorsement”.

BS. She is in a much better position now if she wants to run for President in 2012. Why should she have remained in office and been bankrupted by these phony charges as well as having her reputation damaged on almost a daily basis?

Now she has plenty of money and can be a player in the 2010 midterms by endorsing and supporting candidates who can help her further down the line. Her resignation was the smartest thing she ever did.

Neither is qualified.

Just because the American people were bamboozled into electing one unqualified candidate doesn't mean it's a good idea for us to nominate another one.

We now see the leftists getting an early start to build their propaganda machine through 2010 into 2012, so the story line and template is set.

The first question to ask any one of these un-American masters of smart front groups is; How is she not qualified? Then use the answer and compare it to that of…oh, let’s say Obama. What she’s not black enough, is of verifiable American heritage, a woman, in support of life, liberty and does not promote the destruction of America you say…well if that is your approach then she is qualified.

"She's certainly more qualified than any of the other three people at the top of the majority ballots during the last presidential election."

Every exit poll from last November that I've seen demonstrated clearly that the American people didn't think she was qualified, even for the VP slot.

As long as the American people still elect Presidents, which given the current administration isn't without doubt, the perception by those same people that Palin poses questionable bona fides, will be problematic should she launch another national campaign. To ignore or deny that fundamental truth is whistling past the graveyard.

Simply put, it not a question of "is she or isn't she qualified", it's a question of "what do the American people think about her qualifications?" Thus far, it's not positive.
