This sounds like a case of he doth protest too much methinks. If she were really not worthy of being taken seriously, then I doubt an article about her would be the topic of his column. When is the last time I was the topic of his column? Me-irrelevant, Sarah Palin-not irrelevent, by their own measure........

I can’t take David Brooks seriously - he’s a joke. Why don’t the leftist tv shows have a REAL conservative on as their token “Republican.?
I have an answer for this. Tens of millions of Americans disagreed with Brooks and he basically fears that we're too stupid, that after all the efforts of the liberal media, WE still don't get it. So, Brooks has to escalate, shout louder in the hope that we'll finally get in and share his opinion about Palin.
Obviously, this strategy isn't going to work. Brooks, relax. If Palin is so incompetent, time will expose this incompetence and unsuitability for higher office. And conservative Americans, unlike all of your liberal friends, don't turn their political leaders into Messiahs. And how's that hopenchange working out with the 'serious', 'intelligent', 'literary', 'smart', etc. Obama aka Ofumble?
How the Presidential campaign with the 'experienced' McCain work out? Who, who was successfully portrayed as erratic and hot-tempered by the Obama campaign. Palin hasn't made any of these huge mistakes and she's the dummy? Okie-dokie.
David Brooks can’t help himself. He wants desperately to be part of the in crowd and dare not think for himself.
This is a quote from Brooks about his first meeting with 0bama in 2005:
“I remember distinctly an image of—we were sitting on his couches, and I was looking at his pant leg and his perfectly creased pant,”
Sounds to me that Brooks has been lusting after 0bama, with or without pants, for a good long while now, so I don’t take anything he says seriously.
