Seen on a bumper sticker:
"PRAY for OBAMA; Psalms 109:8"
Check out Psalms 109:8:
" 8. Let his days be few; and let another take his office."
Do I hear an "Amen" to that, anybody???!
{And for our Secret Service friends who monitor Free Republic, by "days be few," we of course mean his "days in office"! }

I won’t do anything illegal but I don’t care “how” he leaves. And that’s the first time I’ve ever felt that way about anyone to ever hold an office.
Also, I’m not so sure the Bible means “in office” when it comes to counting days. But we’ll be put in jail before too long for quoting the Bible.

Dear Lord, please let the prevaricating Obama fail in his every endeavor to drag our nation down the road to atheistic communism.

And for our Secret Service friends who monitor Free Republic, by "days be few," we of course mean his "days in office"! Sorry, that doesn't fly. I don't think it's a good verse to use...read the next verse.

Well in Acts 1 (or 2) when Peter gives his sermon he specifically quotes this O.T. passage (Psalms IIRC) and says it, at that time refers to Judas and rationalizes that it is now time to choose another to fill "his office". I heard a sermon about how Peter was actually rushing God here and not waiting as Jesus explicitly advised him to do and so this appointment was one that was no "God inspired" or "Spirit filled" and hence the one appointed is never heard from again. That is the last use of his name in the N.T.
So maybe the message here is that Zero is a "tribulation" of sorts that we are to pass through in order that we learn a lesson that will serve us at a later time. Whatever you want to make of him, he is there. Is he God's man or is he there in spite of God and God will "use him" just the same? I suspect the later but either way we are in for the ride. The one prayer we need to be making is Solomon's "if my people who are called by my name hear my voice and cry out to me I will heal their land." I believe this was the reason God sent prophet after prophet to Israel and they refused to hear. Will we (as a "people") refuse to hear as well? Things sure don't look real promising at the present, but God loves to show His power through situations that appear hopeless. Who would have thought an orphan baby found in the weeds would grow up to lead his people from captivity and REALLY "speak truth to power" in Pharoah's face? No, when things are hopeless is really when He comes through.
