Sarah Palin is rolling her "Going Rogue" book tour into Fort Hood, the site of the Nov. 5 shooting that left 13 dead and dozens wounded.

"I'm especially looking forward to meeting our brave men and women in uniform at Fort Hood," Palin, 45, wrote on her Facebook page.

She'll be at the base on Dec. 4.

"I'm joining the efforts of many others by donating my royalties from the book sales during our stop at Fort Hood to the families of the victims whose lives have been forever changed by the tragic events of November 5th," she wrote.

A nice gesture, but perhaps a little too soon for a book tour there.

I wonder if it’s open to the civilian public.

If it is, Mrs. Tick and I are planning to go.

I dont think this will be a book tour, I think she will meet with the soldiers and their families. She should request that the media be barred from this. That prick Norah O’Donnell follows her everywhere, she is even in Indiana today. Its a wonderful gesture on Sarah’s part. She cares so much about our brave men and women who fight for our country. Meanwhile Obama says taking pictures with soldiers is a nice “Photo op”

Killeen Councilman Ernest Wilkerson, who voted for President Obama last year, welcomed Palin's visit.

"It's a great idea for her to come now and visit the troops. That way she'll know the significant role Fort Hood plays in our national security," he said.

"Her coming in will be no greater or lesser than the Dallas Cowgirls coming to Fort Hood," he said. "I really do like her," he added. "She's spunky, fiery

LOL. Sarah equals the Dallas Cowgirls. Nowhere in the story does it mention that her son is seving in the US Army and is an Iraq veteran.

The book signing was planned prior to the attack. Palin contacted authorities at Ft. Hood, and asked if they wanted her to cancel, and they said no, to continue as planned. Palin is also going to Ft. Bragg NC during the tour.

“A nice gesture, but perhaps a little too soon for a book tour there.”

President Bush & Laura were there the day or so afterward. But, they weren’t selling a book, if that’s what you mean.

I think NOW is the time to visit while the horrors of terrorism are fresh in the minds of the immediate victims and the rest of us. The Media and our ‘Pisher in Chief’ are doing all they can to make this go away...

I don’t know what it’s going to take to wake people up. *SHRUG*

It is my understanding Ft. Hood was on their stop list before the terrorist attack.

Palin, confirmed with the base that they still wanted to go ahead with the visit.

point them to this link....

“The former vice presidential candidate, whose book “Going Rogue,” will be released on Tuesday, had already agreed to visit the Army base, according to her publicist. She said that after last week’s shooting that left 13 people dead and 30 wounded, an official on the base contacted HarperCollins to say that Palin should stick with the planned appearance.”

Here’s a taste. Always remember things need context for understanding...

Chapter One (pg 1 and part of 2)

The Last Frontier

I don’t believe that God put us on earth to be ordinary. -LOU HOLTZ

It was the Alaska State Fair, August 2008. With the gray Talkeetna Mountains in the distance and the first light covering of snow about to descend on Pioneer Peak, I breathed in an autumn bouquet that combined everything small-town America with rugged splashes of the Last Frontier. Cotton candy and foot-long hot dogs. Halibut tacos and reindeer sausage. Banjo music playing at the Blue Bonnet Stage, baleen etchings, grass-woven Eskimo baskets, and record-breaking giant vegetables grown the midnight sun.

Inching through rivers of people with Trig, our four-month-old son, cradled in my arms, I zigzagged from booth to booth, from driftwood art to honeybee keeping to home-brewed salmon-berry wine. Bristol and Willow, our teenage daughters, roamed with friends, heads together, laughing, thumbs tapping cell phones. Piper, seven, my constant sidekick since the moment she was born, bounced along at my hip, pinching off fluffs of cotton candy, her reward for patiently, accommodating my stop-and-go progress through the crowd. For the most part, she was comfortable watching the grip-and-grin photos and hearing the friendly chitchat with constituents that I enjoyed as part of my job as governor of the state. Every few moments, I pulled my right arm free from baby duty to shake hands with folks who wanted to say hello.

“Hey, Sarah! You never miss the fair!”

“Oh, my goodness, is that the new little one? Let me say hi to him .. .”

“Price of energy’s pretty high, Governor. When are they gonna ramp up drilling?”

A robin’s egg sky arced overhead, the brisk kick in the air hinting at winter’s approach. Like a family conga line, we wound our way among the vendors and exhibits: from pork chops on a stick to kettle corn, veggie weigh-ins, and livestock competitions. A local dance troupe took to the stage and the music blared, competing with the constant hum of generators and squealing kids on rides. Ahead, on my right, I saw the Alaska Right to Life (RTL) booth, where a poster caught my eye, taking my breath away. It featured the sweetest baby girl swathed in pink, pretend angel wings fastened to her soft shoulders.

“That’s you, baby,” I whispered to Piper, as I have every year since she smiled for the picture as an infant. She popped another cloud of cotton candy into her mouth and looked nonchalant: Still the pro-life poster child at the State Fair. Ho-hum.

Well, I still thought it was a nice shot, as I did every time I saw it on its advertisements and fund-raiser tickets. It reminded me of the preciousness of life.

It also reminded me of how impatient I am with politics. (/excerpt)
... read more in the book!

I recommend you buy the book and read it! I ordered from WallyWorld online for $8.98 inc shipping... now $14.50 +

Well, are you surprised. Everything with MSDNC is about race. Someone should have asked Norah O’Donnell what is the percentage of blacks who voted for Obama. MSNBC is already dead, really, no one watches them anymore. Their viewership is down 65 percent, that is PATHETIC
