McCain doesn't love climate bill (or does he?) (bipartisan RINO alert)

Sens. Lindsey Graham and Joe Lieberman have been working overtime to craft a climate bill that can attract significant GOP support. But they aren’t exactly scoring points with their mutual best friend in the Senate, John McCain.

“Their start has been horrendous,” McCain said Thursday. “Obviously, they’re going nowhere.”

McCain has emerged as a vocal opponent of the climate bill — a major reversal for the self-proclaimed maverick who once made defying his party on global warming a signature issue of his career.

(snip)

Former aides are mystified by what they see as a retreat on the issue, given McCain’s long history of leadership on climate legislation.

(snip)

“I wouldn’t be here on this issue without him,” said Graham, a South Carolina Republican who spent much of last fall campaigning for McCain. “He’s the guy that introduced me to the climate problem.”

(snip)

Lobbyists who’ve met with McCain say he feels that the White House has failed to pour enough political capital into the issue for him to feel comfortable breaking with his party.

“This really hasn’t been done in a bipartisan fashion,” said McCain spokesman Brooke Buchanan.

The amount of distrust and disgust for our government keeps growing, now in leaps and bounds. These feather merchant power brokers are out of control and it appears the last thing they have as a goal, is what is good and needed for the American citizens they are SUPPOSED TO BE WORKING FOR.

It all keeps reinforcing itself as an out of control massive power grab by the ruling government elite.

This has GOT to be sandbagging by McCain to build Conservative street cred for re-election. This is just too damned convenient.

Great find on the Three Stooges pic!!!

I no longer believe a word that comes from McLame! He hasn’t changed his spots, he’s only trying to don some camo to make it appear that he is more Conservative than he truly is in hopes that he will be reelected in 2010. ....He’s still a RINO who leans left of center!

i think back on McCain’s newer wife wearing the hillary button... and his smug proud smile in the state of the union address when praised by O’bummer...

and I think McCain has many more backstabs in store for republicans for years to come

The OP(formerly the GOP) wing of the socialist Republicrat party is hard at work with their socialist brethren in the RAT wing of the party!

Actually, purge the RINOs and keep Lieberman...he’s a thorn in the Dems’ side right now, and anything that pisses them off makes me very happy...

RINOs are the supreme example of situational politics. The main reason Conservatives dislike them so.

McCain is busting his ass to get reelected. And Joe and Grahamensty are well aware of it.

Makes me wanna puke.

McCain led the GOP off Algore’s global warming cliff and now we find Algore and McCain are shysters. Suddenly, now that the sham is out of the bag, global warming is not so “moderate” and ‘progressive” anymore.

This alone should get McCain out of office. I don’t care that he’s now changing his mind when he sees the consequences of his stupidity of falling for a hoax designed by Marxists! He is poison for the country.

A decent Republican winning a 3-way race in 2006 would have really pissed them off. Instead the GOP ran a nobody and top Republicans backed liberal democrap Lieberman.
