8.15 PM UPDATE: The Hadley CRU director admits the emails seem to be genuine:
The director of Britain’s leading Climate Research Unit, Phil Jones, has told Investigate magazine’s TGIF Edition tonight ..."It was a hacker. We were aware of this about three or four days ago that someone had hacked into our system and taken and copied loads of data files and emails."…
TGIF asked Jones about the controversial email discussing “hiding the decline”, and Jones explained what he was trying to say….
So the 1079 emails and 72 documents seem indeed evidence of a scandal involving most of the most prominent scientists pushing the man-made warming theory - a scandal that is one of the greatest in modern science. I’ve been adding some of the most astonishing in updates below - emails suggesting conspiracy, collusion in exaggerating warming data, possibly illegal destruction of embarrassing information, organised resistance to disclosure, manipulation of data, private admissions of flaws in their public claims and much more. If it is as it now seems, never again will “peer review” be used to shout down sceptics.
This is clearly not the work of some hacker, but of an insider who’s now blown the whistle.

Recently, the Danes again insisted that a deal is still doable in Copenhagen. “Our objective is to achieve one agreement with two purposes,” Rasmussen said, the first being to provide political guidance for UN negotiations on the new legal framework, and the second to adopt a binding political agreement that would enter into force immediately and hence provide for immediate action to combat climate change.
In the meantime, scepticism is mounting across the Atlantic. Trapped between international pressure to curb greenhouse gas emissions and a US Senate that is not prepared to act, the White House is coy about President Obama’s plans.
Sources in Washington point out that Obama could go to Copenhagen after having picked up his Nobel Peace Prize in Oslo on 10 December. “I’m not sure there’s anything you get out of it,” said a senior Senate Democratic aide. “With nothing to report, inaction and gridlock in the Senate, it seems like a wiser move to stay home,” one US senator told Washington-based online news portal Politico.
According to Politico, the Republicans are eager to depict a do-nothing climate conference as another loss for Obama in Copenhagen. The president has come home empty-handed from Copenhagen before, when he flew to the Danish capital to help his hometown of Chicago lobby for the 2016 Olympic Games.
This could be an elaborate hoax... But if it’s real the pitchforks and torches will be dusted off worldwide...

It also had a map with Cuba under water. Turquino Peak is 6476 feet above sea level. Countries well below 6000 feet were still on the map.

The Director of Hadley CRU, Philip Jones, ADMITTED they were genuine... At least one other scientist has confirmed that their email which is included is genuine. Experts have also studied the emails and the data and have concluded it’s genuine too (can’t remember which Climate website published the analyst findings re: the email headers and such but I read it on one of the other threads I linked in a post of mine above this).

Thanks, I had seen the one posted late last night. But it was unclear, and a source I did not know about.
So when I saw the issue on the Herald Sun (AU) I felt it added credibility.
This is good. Maybe Al Gore and Heidi what’s her name should have a presser in the Maldives to tamp this down.
