FoxNews : Sarah Palin's Future lies in TV, hosting a talk show, nothing more ... (vanity)

Posted on 11/21/2009 6:36:59 AM PST by Scythian

This is three days in a row now that guests and the hosts on FoxNews have said her future does not lie in politics, but Television, even now talking about her as a replacement for Oprah. This really ticks me off. These people are so condecending of Sarah, and therefore me.

Have you guys been noticing this. FoxNews is continually telling everyone she is not fit to be president, I say BS ...

Sure are wasting a lot of time attacking someone who has no political future aren't they

No surprise, this is the same network that propagandized shamelessly for McCain all during 2007-2008.

I think you need to supply some quotes. I might agree with you but I haven’t actually heard any such statements made by any of the Fox News folks.

What can I say? It’s not like I recorded it and can upload it. They just spent most of the morning talking about how her future lies in TV (and the host were agreeing) and then they spent a long time about her being the possible replacement for Oprah, they even said “There’s nothing wrong with that and she shouldn’t be embarrased about it” and talked about how her future was as a TV talk show host, no kidding, I’m not making this up, it pissed me off.

This is NUTS... Sarah does NOT belong on TV! Maybe Fox is wanting her because she would send ratings off the chart. But NO! Sarah belongs in the WH!

I haven't heard that in general, but if you're talking about these week-end morning hosts, they are pretty weak and often say dumb things, IMO.

Fox has Huckabee and Beck....MAKING MONEY FOR MURDOCH!!!

Can we not see the deliciousness of this?

Of course Sarah would make a great TV host. She is GREAT!!

I expect they might even ask her to be a GUEST host - it will hone her speaking skills, media savvy and provide full exposure to the general public. Oprah-wise.

Ya know, funny you mention it. This morning Fox & Friends were ticking me off, especially Allison (not her correct spelling but I don’t care). They were talking about Sarahs interview w/ blowhard and Allison kept saying “she didn’t have an answer”, “I would have liked to hear an answer”.

Allison seemed quite annoyed about it too. I shut Fox off after that.

The weekend Friends did a segment on this...Alisyn and Co. are sooooooooooooo annoying. And they always feature the Huckster so perhaps he is envious of all the Sarah attention.

I may be reading them wrong but I have felt all along that the Fox crowd preferred Romney and, to a lesser extent, their “favorite son,” Mike Huckabee.

Roger Ailes, after all, came from the Bush wing of the Republican party and, when push comes to shove, the Palin’s of this world are probably not his choice.

Fox and Friends discussion with Tucker Carlson on this is a more condescending attempt at trivialization of Palin than that of MSNBC--because these clowns are perpetuating a myth they have criticized others for promoting.

Tucker just brings the MSNBC influence into another arena. By the way, what qualifies him for comment anyway?

They've probably been told by higher ups NOT to 'endorse' Sarah Palin by talking positively about her. :-)

I'm sure Sarah understands, and will continue to plow through 'expert analytical pundit' type responses, LOL. Did you all see this UK story? Some liberals try to blast her in the comments, but conservatives overwhelm them...yeah!! ;-)

Sarah will determine what Sarah’s future holds.
Fox should try to encourage OTHER CONSERVATIVES as well, to stand and be heard — both 2010 and 2012 are coming and that is where their focus should be.

Sarah has shown she can take care of herself and her future, and she has shown that WITH RESULTS THAT COUNT -— not being a paid-off hack on the Washington hill.

Did you see them this morning? Allison sounded a tad bit pissy because Sarah “didn’t have an answer” for a question that was not posed.

I believe blowhard asked Sarah if we could win Afganistan, her answer was yes.

Then Allison started complaing that Sarah “didn’t have an answer as to how”.

What’s up Allisons butt? She seemed very annoyed this morning regarding Sarah.

While Fox News blows the other cable networks away in terms of my viewing preference (and ratings), it is full of inside-the-beltway types. I am at a point where I don’t have much patience to sit around and listen to talking heads, Pubs or Dems, spout the same old worn-out inside-the-beltway “conventional wisdom”. Just like the political class that have been in D.C. too long; these folks need to get out more and see what the rest of the country is all about.

Let’s me be as brutally honest as we can be.

This is to you adults. Think about what you are doing for a living now or what you aspire to do. Why do you feel that way?

Could it be because you are inclined that way or good at that particular endeavor or enterprise.

People GRAVITATE to certain professions or callings because quite simply they can make a living at it or feel compelled to do it.

Sure Sarah could go Hollywood and become the ultimate celebrity but apparently she is not going to do that. Why? it’s not in her DNA. This is not her ultimate goal or ambition in life. It is not what makes Sarah get out of bed in the morning.

Obama, eat your heart out.

The concern that other posters are expressing is that you spoke in generalities, particularly blaming “Fox News” rather than any individual who made offending comments.

There are many people of many opinions on the Fox News Channel.

Generalities and opinions are fine in comments, but you started a vanity thread with a generality. That’s why you’re getting slammed.

I didn’t know anyone watched Fox on weekend mornings. Learn something new every day.

She did get her degree in journalism, and she was briefly a sports news broadcaster, years ago -- so I don't believe that Governor Palin would consider those remarks either condescending or patronizing.

She has presence.

You either HAVE presence, or you don't. She obviously does. In fact I found it quite amusing how tiny & puny that billionairess Oprah appeared in comparison to the solid presence of Governor Palin. Reminded me of how stoopid that little Katie Couric who thinks she's just so gosh darn cute, how she looked last year while trying to trip up a particular interviewee.

My husband didn’t hear anything about a tv talk show, but when I first got up he said Fox had a survey about who people would want to have coffee with, Sarah or Hillary. He said Hillary won, about 42% to 39%. I don’t care if it was on Fox, I don’t believe it. I wonder how many took that survey anyway.

I was surprised when BOR actually stood up for Sarah (although not forcefully) when he was discussing her responses with the “liberal woman” (don’t know who she was) who was using every liberal meme against Sarah—

Sarah was relaxed and easy going on BOR’s show. She didn’t answer a single question with “present”. She didn’t dither. She gave general answers because they were general questions. She didn’t give complex detailed precise answers BECAUSE SHE DIDN’T NEED TO—good grief, it was a quick Q&A session, not a planning session for the Pentagon on how to win the war on terror. LOL. People are so afraid of Sarah—makes me like her even more! :-)
