I read somewhere that they were going to provide signature imprints for the folks who couldn't get signatures..
People had better think about what it is they want to accomplish. Getting her to hide or to celebrate her visit.
As far as I am concerned the book signature is the least of the issues.. I want big crowds to show our support for the positions she is advocating.
I hope they find a way to work this all out so fans can be happy as possible and that folks can still show up by the thousand and see Sarah speak for a few moments or more if she is going to sign less books and make the most of it that way.
I posted no such thing. I made the post right under that one. Ever hear of “reading comprehension?” You might want to give that a try.
How can Sarah have a 51-hour day signing books? (17 hours x 3 stops).
SUPER WOMAN
1. Did the bookstore specifically advertise that Sarah would be there? Did Sarah's website say she would be at that particular bookstore?
ANS: yes - see post #57 (as for her schedule - won't even go there) 2. If so, did the store sell over 500 books? That's a lot of books to stock when Sarah was not even there...especially in the liberal bastion of New York.
ANS: um... 20,000 in Auburn NY last year when she visited (about 40 miles away).
3. If 1,000 people showed up, that's a long line...did 500 people have to pass through the doors and buy the book before it was known that Sarah wasn't even there and that they were out of wristbands? I mean it looks like people would turn around and tell the folks behind them that it was a scam.
ANS: many had already bought the book AT BORDERS - like they were told to - to get a writstband they needed the book and a store receipt. Each wristband could get two books signed - that 2000 books - per Borders. 4. Why would a bookstore who hides, or doesn't carry Sarah's book, even advertise that she would be there in person? And again, why would such a bookstore stock 1,000 of her books?
ANS : DUH.
5. Finally, why do you post a headline implying that people were cheated by Sarah...you should be using this energy jumping up and down on the counter at the bookstore.
ANS: Never implied that. Wife (just got back): "...Love Sarah - hate the way books signings are run. Don't want this to happen to the good folks in Roanoke and elsewhere. It's America. We can be kind to each other..."
You're post is highly contradictory, you start off bitching about not getting a wristband, and then reply to me that you're upset because Sarah wasn't even there. Are you sad because you didn't get a wristband, didn't get the book, or didn't get to meet Sarah, or all of the above. AND, if you're going to see her next week, why is this such a big deal?
ANS: You've completely lost me here...
Maybe we need to go check Sarah's book signing tour SCHEDULE and see if SHE said she would be there...if not, then this is an issue you should be taking up with the bookstore, and Palin had nothing to do with it.
Don't bother answering, as I'm done with this thread anyway....
ANS: Yeah. That's probably for the better.
And again, no one is blaming Palin.
It appears that it is the bookstore which is promising the 1000 signed books and not Palin. This puts the responsibility for those people whose books went unsigned squarely on the retail merchant
She started early and stayed late just to make sure everyone was happy, and I am sure she was suffering just the same.
This refers to Columbus. What about Rochester?
In Columbus, she started signing early and stay(sic) late to ensure everyone in line received an autograph, Ludlow reported.A Paul Harvey moment.
She doesn't take any where near that long, a few seconds at the most.
She doesn't personalize them, just signs them.
What she is doing is strenuous and taxing on her physically, but she is committed to what she is doing.
In Columbus, she invited the people left outside to come in an signed every book.
At one book-signing she signed 1,000 books in 3 hours.
I think the planning and execution of her book tour is working out quite well.
That's way, way, way too much.
A few like to criticize and decide from the www how she should run things, but she's doing just fine.
She has been misunderestimated before.
She must have a great staff and bus driver.
She wishes!
Now, see how much better it is when you clarify the details...
That’s good they’re working to correct the problem.
The local Gannett paper has an interview with Sarah's dad. He and Sarah's mother, and Piper, joined Sarah in Rochester this afternoon.
The article cannot be excerpted, so mash here for more.
ps:This is a fantastic photo. It belongs right next to the Michelle look/Carla Bruni and the Bush/Cheney look at obama

sorry about the double post. I have no idea how that happened.
Thanks for the explanation.
I guess the organizers didn’t consider the frenzy Palin seems to cause in towns around the nation.
She has grabbed the heart of so many people - I wonder what’s ahead for her and if she (and family) can handle all of it?
So cruel some people have been to her -
trouble
It honestly sounds to me like the bookstores are deciding how many to tell people they are giving out in order to get them in to buy books because they know that most people won’t return the book once bought.
NO it doesn’t, From what I saw at once of the stops it is limited to 2 books for each wristband.
