What's $100 million of taxpayer money between a few U.S. Senators?
After reports surfaced, originally from ABC News, and subsequently commented upon by prominent lefties, like U.S. News and World Report's Bonnie Erbe as my colleague Noel Sheppard pointed out, Sen. Mary Landrieu, D-La., took the Senate floor on Nov. 21 to announce she would vote in favor to proceed forward with the Senate Democratic leadership's health bill. But she also took time to respond to allegations that $100 million earmarked for the Louisiana was added to that legislation to sway her vote by referring to the likes of ABC News correspondent Jonathan Karl and Erbe as "very partisan Republican bloggers."
"I know that might time is up, but I would like to ask personal privilege for just one more minute to address an issue that has come up unfortunately in the last 24 hours by some very partisan Republican bloggers so I need to respond I think and will do so now," Landrieu said. "One of the provisions in the framework of this bill that I've just decided to move on to debate has to do with fixing a very difficult situation that Louisiana is facing and any other state that might have a catastrophic disaster - let's hope they don't - like we did in 2005."

As for Lincoln, ironic that she will find herself in the same shoes as her former Blue Dog colleague in the House, Marjorie Margolies-Mezvinsky. Lincoln was right there and saw the Dem leadership twisting MMM's arm to vote for Clinton's first budget, she held out long past the time for voting had expired, but in the end, some promise from Clinton got her yea, she had her vote bought over the express wishes of her constituents -- and they sent her home.
Harry Reid haggled on a price for her services.
And once again Americans everywhere are expected to pay the price for the screwing we are about to get from the whores in DC.

“Well, of course I am,” Mr. Specter said when asked if he’s worried about the conservative backlash. “But (President) John Kennedy had it right. He said, ‘Sometimes the party asks too much.’ And this is something I think is necessary for the country. It goes beyond politics. It goes beyond the Democratic or Republican position. It’s the right thing for America.”
Mr. Specter said he would have supported the package even if Democrats had not added $6.5 billion in additional money for the National Institutes of Health to the final version of the bill.
Mr. Specter had sought the money for years, and had mentioned that he wanted the money in the bill when he met with President Barack Obama last week.
“That’s only one small part ... That’s not determinative in my mind,” he said.
The stimulus vote could create “a political problem,” he said, but “I thought the public interest was so important that I have to take whatever problems it brings me.”
To prove it, lets see her try to get that $100 million OUT of the bill. Otherwise, she’s a liar and the bloggers caught her.

That was ALWAYS goigbn to be the case- the heralthcare bill WILL go through- regardless of al lthe optimism that ‘they don’t have enough votes’, ‘that there aren’t enough onboard’ etc etc etc. Obama IS goign to have his ‘legacy’ come hell or high water, and there is nothign we are goign to do to stop him from ruining America- Ried has just stated that American citizens, legal citizens who don’t buy health insurance will pay $800 a year, while ILLEGAL aliens that don’t buy it will not be fined- this abortion of the healthcare system is goign to happen- bank on it
