Many Churches Support Abortion so I recommend that Patrick Kennedy and other democrats attend one of them. These websites have lists of pro-choice churches.

That’s about 60 years too late for that family.

Add this to the long list of things I don't understand.

How can a Kennedy or anyone else brag about being a Catholic and support abortion?

I am frankly apalled that some other man thinks he has control of my faith.

Huh? Nobody's controlling Kennedy's "faith" (whatever it might be!) -- the bishop is just saying he can't receive Communion in his diocese unless his faith conforms to the what the Church teaches. In fact, since he apparently doesn't believe what the Church teaches, one wonders why he bothers to go to Mass and receive anyway (if indeed he does).

Kennedy as all Catholics (human beings) are subject to God's judgment upon death.

A Bishop or Archbishop is the authority of the Church as the successor to the Apostles of Jesus Christ for a specific geographic area or diocese.

A Bishop has the authority to control the practice of Catholic Faith within that geographic area and can deny Communion, one of the Sacraments of the Catholic Church and could excommunicate a Catholic from the Church.

Why some Bishops do not exercise such authority is above my pay level.

The Bishop as a successor to the Apostles of Jesus can certainly deny the Sacraments to someone who so publicly stands against the Catholic Church and encourages and allows others to commit a mortal sin with respect to the life of another human being.

He is not denying his right to Faith in God.

He will face his judgment from God when he dies.

Not only the Church(sic) presided over a Whopping Funeral Mass to send this reprobate to heaven.

The Archdiocese of Boston, not the Church, was involved in that circus masquerading as a funeral Mass. Whether or not Ted Kennedy spends eternity in hell or heaven is the providence of Almighty God and that judgment was made at the moment of death, just as Scripture teaches. Your comprehension of Catholicism and Sacred Scripture leaves a lot to be desired.

“Your comprehension of Catholicism and Sacred Scripture leaves a lot to be desired.”

I agree. But I do not confuse the miscreant priests or lay participants with the actual theology of the Catholic Church.

However, Bishop Tobin is finally one of the first of the clergy to take a stand on what the Church teaches in regard to a Catholic legislator.

With the blatant voting record of Ted Kennedy, the Church never made a public, individually pointed ‘peep’ as to the Senator’s political record which was antithetically against the tenets of The Faith.

‘splain that to me!

I am frankly apalled that some other man thinks he has control of my faith. Not what the Bible teaches.

Nobody is exercising any "control" over anyone's faith in this situation.

Someone who claims to be Catholic while taking the disgraceful public stands that these public figures in the Kennedy family have taken over the years is like an Israeli Jew supporting Hamas or Hezbollah.

What about all the people who were led astray by Ted Kennedy because he was a “pro-choice Catholic”? The blame falls squarely on his liberal confessor, and on the Church, which gives such power of absolution to men.

The Archbishop of Boston may have counciled Ted Kennedy privately, as Bishop Tobib did for Patrick Kennedy.

When Patrick Kennedy went public, only then did the Bishop go public to set the record straight.

A friend of mine from Boston has said that he knows Ted Kennedy's confessor and the priest is a liberal.

If either his confessor or the bishop counseled him not to be pro-abortion and he didn't obey, then I guess the blame would fall on Kennedy. My own personal view is that if he believed he was absolved, then he was absolved, but not if he disobyed the counsel he professed to have faith in.

Nonetheless, I'm not trying to judge the deceased--just bringing all this up for other reasons.
