Allen Abel, Sarah Palin and the real Americans (Another Metrosexual chimes in)
The National Post ^ | November 20, 2009 | Allen Abel

NOBLESVILLE, INDIANA -- The real Americans were waiting in their Audis and Outbacks in the Hoosier rain. Already, the parking lot had been barricaded and the satellite trucks from the local television stations were in place and it still was going to be five hours before we would see the ex-mayor, ex-governor and existential hero of prairie patriots like all of us.

I hauled up in my rented Nissan Versa, having driven from the Indianapolis airport in the downpour, and rolled down the window and talked to the people in the next space.

--snip--

Jim and Lucy Roark said they had been out here in front of Borders since 3:30 a.m. in the cold, soggy morning, all for a glimpse and a handshake and an autograph from Sarah Heath Palin.

"It was like Christmas for us," said Lucy Roark.

"Why Sarah Palin?" I asked.

"The reality of family," she replied. "Speaking from the heart. She speaks our language and doesn't act as if we don't have a brain cell in our head."

Dennis Miller, the libertarian Republican comedian, was doing his call-in show. He was talking about Sarah Palin; this week, as she rolls through the flatlands on her Going Rogue book-signing and baby-brandishing tour, so is everyone else.

When Sarah Palin hits the floodlights, squealing like she just won a new dishwasher on The Price is Right, Barack Obama might as well be in Shanghai, for all the news he makes. Now she was busing from Fort Wayne to Noblesville, this fast-growing, affluent, generic suburban city -- rated "America's Best Place to Raise a Family" by Forbes, magazine -- in a county that is as flat as a flapjack, as rich as butter and as white as milk.(continued)

Sarah absolutely drives ‘em nuts. They play every “card” they have and make some more up to throw at her. This is getting entertaining. She's getting into Reagan territory in how crazy she can make the Dims.

in a county that is as flat as a flapjack, as rich as butter and as white as milk. ............................. Gotta love it, using the ole race card as usual. If she runs and picks, say, Condolisa Rice, they’ll say she is running on a white and Uncle Tom ticket. Believe it, it will get worse, she will have to defend herself constantly if she runs, and there will be no let up. Bet on it.

You’ll notice how the most virulent Palin hate ALWAYS seems to come from the gays??

Why do they fear her so much?

The real Americans were waiting in their Audis and Outbacks in the Hoosier rain.

That's it? There were no other brand of vehicles out there? Wow.

"You’ll notice how the most virulent Palin hate ALWAYS seems to come from the gays?? Why do they fear her so much?" Because she's so much more of a woman than they can ever be.

And probably as straight as a country lane, eh, Allen?

Another snarky little hit-piece on Sarah Palin and her supporters, clearly characterizing them as racist dolts who aren't intelligent enough to give up their guns, religion and admiration for the former Alaska governor. The writer's condescension is palpable and the disdain he feels for Palin and anyone who admires her, fairly drips from the page. He fools no one with his seemingly benign patronizing of the folks he talks to at the event.

All this too-clever mocking of Sarah Palin and those who support her (in this instance buying her book and waiting to have it autographed) by the leftists who really believe that Obama is 'brilliant' and actually likes America and that those who oppose his socialist positions are all stupid racists, will come to nothing. They are singing to the left-wing choir, now, and with liberals at 20% of the population, their audience is growing ever smaller while Sarah Palin grows stronger with every passing day. I love it!

Because a Sarah in office will make men stop being so feminized.
A Sarah in office will gird men who have long been taught that women want the metrosexual type. The Sesitive type who won’t call ‘em as they see them.
The type who WONT fight but instead wait for the police. The type that will in short measure realize they need to take their country back as soon as they realize they aren’t Neanderthals and barbarians for standing up for whats right.
Sarah will wreck a LOT of peoples plans that have been carefully laid out for a LONG time.
Sarah will also not say that Gay marriage is Ok. She wont be politically correct about it. She’ll speak truth about it.
They don’t want that and they CERTAINLY don’t want to male populace to all of a sudden realize how easy it is to fix a lot of moral issues in the country by simply refusing to be tricked or cowed any longer. 2012 Can’t come soon enough.

By the way, Men are called to be defenders of the weak and guardians of Women. Its not Sexist to be chivalrous.

They certainly don’t want that to happen- I mean, what will happen to “men” who say such Vile things about women like Sarah when men “remember” thats its not only ok to defend her, but the right thing to do?

The author’s race-baiting jab aside, Hamilton County (where Noblesville is) *is* a pretty nice place. I have kin and several friends who live there. Most of them used to live in Marion County (i.e. Indianapolis), but got the hell out of dodge years ago.

Boone County is pretty nice, too. I love going to Zionsville whenever I visit my friends in Indiana.
