Just 39 percent of white Americans now approve of President Obama's job performance, a steep drop-off of support since he was inaugurated in January, according to the latest Gallup Poll.
In his first full week in office, starting Jan. 26, just over six in 10 white people gave him their approval. Now that number is down to under four in 10, indicating a net drop of 22 points.
Black voters, meanwhile, have continued to support Obama to the tune of approximately 90 percent. And Democrats and liberals give Obama approval ratings of above 80 percent.
"Though he maintains widespread loyalty among Democrats, the small loss in support he has seen from his fellow partisans seems to be exclusively from white Democrats," Gallup's finding says.
The most recent survey of 3,611 adults has a 2 percent margin of error.

Baraq will never fall below about 40% baseline support. His 2012 plan is a three way split and a Clintonian plurality win.
But given the dynamism of the current crop of GOP leaders I think there's a good chance we can make significant inroads into the dead people demographic.
This guy is going to be as unpopular as disco.

I LOVED disco - and still do! I admit to owning the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever. Going from one disco club to another in Anchorage in the ‘70s was great fun. (The ‘70s clothes, though — eeeewww.)

When I’d visit some foreign port on liberty, it was VERY common to be directed to a ‘discotheque’ as late as the 90’s.

Today’s poor may fantasize about switching places with the ‘wealthy’ via government action, but all that will happen is that the entire economy goes into a tail-spin. Look at what happened in Rhodesia/Zimbabwe. That h*llhole sets new records everyday in human desperation, yet the poor continue to fall for the propaganda while there are virtually no wealthy outside of the President-for-Life’s tight little circle.
You assume that Barak will survive the primary challenge. He probably will. I can’t think of a sitting president that didn’t, but he could get mussed-up a bit. He might be the loser in a 3-way.
