I believe Modern American Jews have a generations long Stockholm syndrome that compels them to embrace secular power as a misguided defensive tact. They feel that upsetting the status quo holds the greatest risk so they vote as their elders have before them.

I agree. They obviously overcame cultural reticence and fear and now see the enemy in a clear light: no illusions about mulitcultural solidarity. You can't sleep with wolves.
I have no grudge against a guy like Rahm Emmanuel serving in the IDF - if you are in Israel, it's the right thing to do.

So if these reports are true, just like the Globe’s reports of John Edwards affair & love child — when do you think that the truth will ever be mentioned in the MSM? Ever???
They never really covered the Edwards story. I mean the allegations were out there, and the mis-information was put forward and that was the end of it. It was only his stupidity in visiting her, and the crack reporting of the Enquirer that led to widespread disbelief in his story.
An interesting aside I have heard that he was 'outed' by campaign staffers who realized that if he won the nomination that the Dems would lose when his love child was revealed. Essentially they put party loyalty over personal loyalty.
If Obama is sick we'll hear about it when he has to go in for a long stay at the hospital, and it will be claimed it was all just discovered Tuesday.

There is a need for Jews to "stay on the reservation" even against common logic and one's own instinct for true self-preservation and liberty. 1) Virtually all FReepers didn’t vote for Obama.
2) Most American Jews did vote for Obama.
All I intended in my post was that WE have nothing to apologize for, but Israel should be asking their own brethren in the US why they voted for a guy that is openly hostile to Israel and didn’t even try to hide it during the campaign.

I remember reading a Globe story about bin Laden. According to this story, bin Laden hates the US because an American women ridiculed him as sexually inadequate. About 3 weeks later the building with the Globe offices had an anthrax attack which killed one or more people, I don’t remember the details, but I remember thinking at the time that it was bin Laden retaliation against the Globe. Never heard that suggested in the news.
