U of Minn. teaches Ed. students they MUST attack American Dream, paint America as bigoted hellhole
The Collins Report ^ | November 27, 2009 | Kevin “Coach” Collins

Posted on 11/27/2009 6:09:56 AM PST by jmaroneps37

Those who believe that America is a special place where dreams can come true and everyone has the opportunity to succeed, had better keep their thoughts to themselves if they attend the University of Minnesota’s College of Education and Human Development.

A new report posted by the Race, Culture, Class and Gender Task Group of the University recommends those training to be Minnesota public school teachers must repudiate our cherished American dream.

This “Task Group” even recommends teacher candidates adopt its party line that America is “an oppressive hellhole: racist, sexist and homophobic.”

Teachers must harbor hatred and resentment for our country to satisfy the demands of the Teacher Education Redesign Initiative.

The insulting and disgusting findings of this bunch of America haters goes on to say that making new teachers “swear allegiance” to these ridiculous requirements is necessary because Minnesota’s teachers “lack of “cultural competence” contributes to the poor academic performance of the state’s minority students.“

In other words instead of teaching minority students that America is a land of opportunities they are to join children in mocking the very features of America that hold out hope to them and lie about the character of the American people.

Forget about teaching writing reading mathematics and science, Minnesota teachers are to make race class and gender the central elements in everything they teach because, while no one was looking, people who inhabit the dark fringes of life now have control over the lives of our children.

So they have substituted *self-esteem* for *self-hatred*?

That’s gonna leave a mark!

Why is there even such a thing?

I’m a George Mason University masters program education school dropout. I couldn’t stomach the anti-White curriculum and the self-loathing White faculty members. At least the non-White faculty had a reason for their hatred of Whites....they are all bona fide racists.

It is ALL part of the plan and has been incrementally put in place for decades.

30) Discredit the American founding fathers. Present them as selfish aristocrats who had no concern for the "common man".

31) Belittle all forms of American culture and discourage the teaching of American history on the ground that it was only a minor part of "the big picture": Give more emphasis to Russian history since the Communists took over.

I’m sure they received a lot of guidance from Bill Ayers, a highly influental education establishment leader.

A long time ago, as I was finishing my BA in History, I expressed interest in getting a Masters in History. My advisor (flaming Leftist) took me aside and said that a Masters was useful primarily if one wanted to enter the education field, and that my career -- because of my political views -- would be sabotaged every step of the way. Strongly advised me to avoid graduate school in any liberal arts field.

It was good advice -- but also an indication of how Leftists self-select other leftists for future education posts. The whole system is rotten.

You mean that there are professors in our universities that are racist? Shocking! We need to fire these white people.... er.... wait a minute, what do we do if the racists are black? Oh yeah, absolutely nothing. Welcome to America.

It isn’t different anywhere else. It just hasn’t been exposed. The education establishment is very inbred.

You know, when colleges are looking somewhere to make some cuts and make ends meet, maybe these classes are some of the places where they should take some serious consideration.

This can’t happen because parents too like grade inflation — makes them think their youngsters are “excelling” even if they can’t write a simple paragraph.

No, we need to remove our children from government schools because government schools are unreformable. Remove 30% of the children, and the system collapses financially and loses its political legitimacy. School reformers are like Civil War reenactors who specialize in Pickett’s Charge.

How is it that conservatives oppose a single-payer health system, but somehow think single-payer is fine in education? Can we say “middle class welfare?” [none of this may be applicable to you, so don’t take it personally]

I grew up in MN when an education from a MN institution was something to be coveted. Now, that state is an embarrassment.

These “race, culture” etc. academics are nothing but embittered leftists who can’t get a job in the outside world, so they became “professors”. This allows them to project their hateful fantasies towards society with a thin patina of academic credibility.

There is most definitely a cultural war happening. The other side has been fighting this war for a long time now. The best way to fight this war, IMHO, is to defend the US as the greatest outpost of personal freedom and self-determination, not concentrate the fight on specific cultural issues. I’m not saying that those specific cultural issues aren’t important, or that they shouldn’t be fought for. I’m saying that it plays into the other side’s strengths and strategy to make this about any specific polarizing issue. Most people in this country believe in freedom and self-determination. Most don’t want their children indoctrinated. The NEA should be painted in this case as supporting indoctrination of children.

Ironically there does not seem to be an exodus of these people to leave the country they despise. They are as free as the birds in the air to relocate.

Difficult to understand their reluctance.
