We should go even further.
Telluride Colorado should be dismantled, restored to it’s original pristine state, and given back to the Utes.
Think this idea will go over well with the guilt-stricken libs of Telluride?

In the meantime, spokesmen for several Native American tribes said those white people had it coming.

Surrounded by Lenape Indians, the Dutch colonists "were hacking men, women and children to death," said Ronald Holloway, the chairman of the Sand Hill band of Lenapes, who lived here before Henry Hudson landed 400 years ago

So were the Dutch colonists threatened by being surrounded, or is Mr. Holloway a quatricentenarian?

Irrational and sanctimonious scammers all, but a very interesting, if shockingly ill-informed, version of ancient history.

Dear Reverend Chase,

Allow me to give you some advice on how to handle your rather displaced White guilt: Purchase the heaviest bullwhip you can find, then, while cursing yourself with the vilest of obscenities, beat yourself to a bloody pulp, you evil White oppressor, you! You owe it to yourself, sir.

Surrounded by Lenape Indians, the Dutch colonists “were hacking men, women and children to death,” said Ronald Holloway

Why?

-Oh, because they saw people who LOOKED different than they did and being the WHITE RACISTS that all white folks are, let their homicidal tendencies take over and the ‘hacking’ began! Jolly good fun for people who had NOTHING ELSE to do.

Lost upon all who buy in to such revisionism are little clues such as the following snippet from the declaration of independence indicating what the indians were really like.
He has excited domestic insurrections amongst us, and has endeavoured to bring on the inhabitants of our frontiers, the merciless Indian Savages whose known rule of warfare, is an undistinguished destruction of all ages, sexes and conditions.
Circa 1999, I heard a naive American pastor describe to his congregation a conversation he had with a Lebanese Christian clergyman. Upon learning that there were nearby muslim communities, the American pastor asked what they did concerning witnessing to the muslims upon which the Lebanese clergyman replyed nothing. The American pastor then asked if the Lebanese clergyman wasn't concerned that the muslims would go to hell whereupon the Lebanese clergyman said he couldn't imagine a better place for them.

The stunned American pastor couldn't imagine conditions in civil war Lebanon just as too many today cannot imagine what conditions were like on the frontier.

OH BS! There are NO native Americans...we are all produced by the immigration from Europe and Eurasia...

And the majority of millions and millions of ‘first Americans’ were killed off by germs brought here be the explorers and their horses, because ‘first American’ women were genetically flawed from there being no substitution for mother’s milk and they nursed their babies for years, depleting their immune systems.

They seemed to be heathens because they had no knowledge of Jesus Christ because they came here before he manifested himself into a human and came back to earth to deliver his laws. They only knew paganism from their Eurasian Hun ancestors. That’s no excuse, but it is part of reality. It’s what happens when any human societies get into a disagreement over material ‘things.’ The ironic part is that Manifest Destiny did not come to the US until after our founding fathers, through immigration of the descendants of the their very Hun ancestors.

This debacle is just more ObaMao pandering to victimize a group of Americans so he can exploit them. There hasn’t been a ‘native American’ harmed in a hundred years here, just like there hasn’t be a slave.

Did the romans ever apologize for conquering? And do other Europeans hate them for it? NO, it’s a total waste of time in today’s world.

yes, and if you feel guilt, look in the mirror during your self-flagellation not at those around you who think you’re a friggin’ moron.

I despise this kind of phony navel-gazing guilt which, in essence, says: PLEASE FORGIVE US FOR EXISTING.

I’d like somebody to tell me when the SPANISH have ‘apoligized’ and made REPARATIONS for what their explorers did on THIS continent back in the 1500’s...

Dude, I hope you simply forgot your sarcasm tag on your post.......'cause that is probably the dumbest thing I read in years.

Maybe, after they cut open his gut while he was still alive, and poured hot coals in.

My ancestor was a Spanish explorer. He came here in 1674 to map Texas for Spain. I know the Spanish had Native servants and slaves but I’m sure they did their share of abuses. I think it was the Spanish that introduced scalping.

Let's see, 20 years per generation, 80 some odd generations after the fact,

80 generations?

Good golly. As a genealogist - well, just taking my own family tree back to the Mayflower (same time period) - many of whom were my 7th and 8th great great parents - that would make 10-11 generations.

Not to mention, if every generation were only 20 years - in 400 years, that is only 20 generations, not 80. 80 x's 20 would be 1,600 years.

I bet these people are not motivated by guilt at all. They are motivated by their desire to feel EVER so good about themselves. Self-satisfaction. Smugness. Reminds me of the Seinfeld episode with Babu and the Dream Cafe. Jerry gives Babu advice about the Dream Cafe. Babu happily accepts Jerry's advice. Then Jerry thinks out loud:

I AM such a great guy. Who else would've gone through the trouble of helping this poor immigrant? I am special. My mother was right. Of course I've never had Pakistani food. How bad it could be?

Things don't go so well for Babu, it turns out.
