Climategate Update: CRU emails were leaked before they were hacked
American Thinker ^ | Nov 30, 2009 | Thomas Lifson

The BBC received copies of some of the CRU emails more than a month ago, but did nothing about them, sitting on explosive evidence of fraud. The UK Daily Mail reports:

..

The sequence of events strongly suggests that an insider leaked some emails to the BBC (and for all we know, others), hoping that they would be incriminating enough to intrigue anyone. When faced with a media stonewall, the insider then chose to post the complete files where they could not quickly be extinguished.

The BBC is suppose to be the pillar of unbiased reporting, and they can’t even report upon this story.

Again, the Marxist left-wing media conspiring to protect their own.

Just like how Newsweek decided to put the lid on the Monika Lewinsky story... it took Drudge to break it.

Forgotten favorites:

Scandalous scoop breaks online

"The Drudge Report has learned that reporter Michael Isikoff developed the story of his career, only to have it spiked by top Newsweek suits hours before publication," the report said.

...or how the MSM entirely ignored the John (Breck Girl) Edwards’ mistress story. We had to wait for the National Enquirer to break that story.

The world has really turned upsided down when we can get more truth from Pravda and the National Enquirer than the New York Times or BBC.

It is reminiscent of when Drudge broke the story (the intern scandal) that Newsweak tried to spike, and the Dan Rather/CBS scandal that was exposed right here at Free Republic - - once again, the internet shows the world the truth. And once again, one can't help but ask, "How many frauds were perpetrated and how many politically inconvenient stories were spiked during all those decades before the new media gained dominance?"

Thank God for the internet, talk radio, and Fox News. America may yet be saved from the socialists.

Let's call the leaker Deep Climate and forget about which public-spirited person came forward until after he or she dies. That seems to be the elite media template, after all.

Deep Climate. Very clever.

I also liked the comparison to Martin Luther. He exposed the Church's "indulgences" scandal, whereby the people bought or earned forgiveness of sins (like carbon credits). He also published the Bible in German so the people could read it for themselves. Prior to that it had only been in Latin...the people had to rely on "scholars" to tell them what was in the Holy Book.

Another famous media blackout story... they covered for him during the entire primary season when they all KNEW about his mistress and love-child.

The BBC is extremely biased... run by left wing lunatics. They’ve even admitted it in the past.

Thank God for insiders who are not willing to cooperate with the destruction of the free world. I have always believed that they are the courageous people who will change things when they become concerned about what they participate in.

Not only the BBC——try searching your local newspaper for this story or the various television stations sans FOX.

I suspected something was up a few years back when they changed Global Warming to Climate Change

It is interesting to watch the reaction to the emails.

So far it is “Pay no attention to them! CONSENSUS RULES!”

"Prior to that it had only been in Latin...the people had to rely on "scholars" to tell them what was in the Holy Book."

Wrong. The first Bible in German LONG pre-dated Luther.

Ulfilas (ca. 381)

The earliest Germanic version of the Bible was Ulfilas' Gothic translation from Latin and Greek. From Ulfilas came much of the Germanic Christian vocabulary that is still in use today. Later Charlemagne (Karl der Große) would foster Frankish (Germanic) biblical translations in the 9th century. Over the years, prior to the appearance of the first printed German Bible in 1466, various German and German dialect translations of the Scriptures were published. The Augsburger Bibel of 1350 was a complete New Testament, while the Wenzel Bible (1389) contained the Old Testament in German.

Gutenberg Bible (1455)

Johannes Gutenberg's so-called 42-line Bible, printed in Mainz, was in Latin. About 40 copies exist today in various states of completeness. It was Gutenberg's invention of printing with movable type that made the Bible, in any language, vastly more influential and important. It was now possible to produce Bibles (and other books) in greater quantities at a lower cost.

First Printed Bible in German (1466)

Before Martin Luther was even born, a German-language Bible was published in 1466, using Gutenberg's invention. Known as the Mentel Bible, this Bibel was a literal translation of the Latin Vulgate. Printed in Strassburg, the Mentel Bible appeared in some 18 editions until it was replaced by Luther's new translation in 1522.

Note the date of that BBC report: June, 2007. Didn’t make much difference did it?
