Read and decide for your self. She sees Roe v Wade as enshrining privacy in the constitution. She does however view it as a states rights issue. She does think that abortion could be allowed in certain instances such as rape or life of mother. She would not act to unilaterally ban anything regarding abortion but each state should decide what is best for itself. She is personally pro-life and has set an example of such but is very pro personal liberty and conscience. Her positions are classically states’ rights and personal liberty centered and not federally centrist centered...which is a GOOD thing!

Pailin lives out of the freedom of her conscience and grace and not by party. She can only set a moral example but understands that there are limits to the legislating of morality. I don’t think she would actively adapt an agenda encouraging abortions but I don’t see her acting aggressively against them...though if congess were to send her pro-life legislation I could see her signing it presuming it doesn’t intefere with personal liberties.

As for welfare and health reforms...I see her acting rationally on those issues....but don’t expect her to throw grandma onto the street. Her faith won’t let her!

Its better that Obama / Ayers and Soros won than to abandon one’s faith my son.

Not if they so poison the system that not even the second coming of Reagan can fix it.

No. She is against abortion in cases of rape.

Palin's stance on abortion

Please also read her interview with Katie Couric on this issue.

She is personally pro-life and has set an example of such but is very pro personal liberty and conscience. Her positions are classically states’ rights and personal liberty centered and not federally centrist centered...which is a GOOD thing!

First you criticized her supposed "pro-choice" stance, and now you applaud it as constitutionally wise?

I slipped on the rape issue and I expected you would correct me on it...I didn’t edit it out on my posting.

I wasn’t criticizing her nor nor supporting her on her ‘pro choice’ issues just pointing out that she isn’t “conservatively pure”. Her positions have always seemed balanced and nuanced towards states rights and personal liberty of conscience.

|”Pro-contraception, pro-woman, pro-life
What about the social issues that Alaskans, especially the party faithful who often decide primary elections, may find important? Here’s what Sarah Palin has to say about abortion.
Palin said last month that no woman should have to choose between her career, education and her child. She is pro-contraception and said she’s a member of a pro-woman but anti-abortion group called Feminists for Life. “I believe in the strength and the power of women, and the potential of every human life,” she said. “

If one agrees with Catholic positions on contraception then one might have some issues with Palin. On the other hand, this goes strongly hand in hand with her views on personal freedoms and liberties as well as sports a strong pro life outlook which other Catholics might admire.

Now, bottomline, I will vote for her if she comes up as a candidate in 2012. I am voting for her based on her moral personal examples she has set and on her work in Alaskan government. All politicians have flaws, and they are not gods...Palin is not purely conservative but she is true blue pro American and pro energy and capitalist. I can live with all the rest!

Thank you for your sane comments and thoughts on the issue. However coming on a Huck hate thread like this one and saying what you did is gonna draw fire. Put on your body armor.

I hope Huck is planning to support the four families whose lives he destroyed by letting this animal out.

"Its better that Obama / Ayers and Soros won than to abandon one’s faith my son."

Maybe I'm misunderstanding here...how is not supporting Huckabee for President turning against my religious faith, or "abandoning the purity of conservatism"?

No matter how devoutly religious Huckabee is, even to the point of being a a preacher, he is not God.

In case you haven't noticed, America is so skewed right now that they just elected a muslim as president, without any substantial proof that he's even a natural born citizen. Do you really think that Huckabee has the horsepower to take that away from these people?

He's not even resonating well with Conservatives and has had the reputation of being a RINO since last year's primaries.

I hope I just misunderstood your post.

Ick.

I’d be real careful with pardons and clemencies if I was a Governor.

Conservative bloggers are claiming that the clemencies kill any Presidential hopes for the Huckster. I am not so sure. Remember Huckabee’s base of support is - church going seniors. These are the same people who continue to give their life savings to tv evangelists with questionable ehtics.
