Yes, I was aware of that. I just wish the pain lasted longer.
Clemmons had stayed on the run for nearly two days with help from a network of friends and family who gave him places to stay, medical aid, rides and money, police said.
It’s a cultural thing and I just wouldn’t understand.
I wonder if there will be any legal consequences for providing him aid and comfort?
Probably not.
Isn’t it a criminal offense to harbor a fugitive, especially a cop killer?
It would be racist to investigate.
They didn’t execute him - they shot an armed and dangerous multiple-homicide suspect who was actively resisting arrest.
Gratifying Washington state news ping
Well, it goes kinda like this:
If the judicial branch FAILS TO DO IT’S JOB, then somebody else will.
Nature abhors a vacuum.
Bulls#!t. He was being shot at and ran like a chicken s#!t rabbit.
"The only motive that we have is he decided he was going to go kill police officers," Troyer said. He said Clemmons talked the night before the shooting about killing a group of cops and watching the news
Send in a black detective to interview these people. Clemmons most likely talked about killing white cops.
Yes, but when it comes to crime, our state regularly drops their pants for purposes PC.
Google Gary Ridgeway, The Green River Killer.
Murdered & Raped 48, was given a plea deal in return for disclosing locations of the bodies the police hadn't found yet.
They really know how to put the "TF!!!!" in WA.
Look, this guy is scum and deserved to die, no doubt about it. However, when I think of our boys in blue, and the men in black (SWAT) I think about testosterone surges, payback and the thin blue line. I don't like any of those things.
Last year, in my rural county, a guy was shot to death by police (SWAT) because he was in his own house with a gun. He did not aim at the officers, he did not fire upon them. He wouldn't come out of the house, so they took him out. That's vigilante justice, and we're not supposed to be about that.
When we start letting stuff like this slide, without comment, then every time they (police) do it, it will become more acceptable. The Sarah in me says “Well done! Good shot! Thanks for saving us the expense of a trial and execution.” The just lil ol me says “But wait a minute. Does this mean it's ok for cops to “know” who the perp is and just take him out? What if that happens to me? What if I'm in the wrong place at the wrong time, become a person of interest, and then they take me out like that?” As a society, someone has to say these things. We can't let the pendulum swing too far.
Probably. This is from the AP article.
“We expect to have maybe six or seven people in custody by the day’s end,” said Ed Troyer, a spokesman for the Pierce County sheriff. “
They go on to say there are already 4 in custody. I don’t know if this mean six or seven more, or just the total.
And I don't think the Jackson/Sharpton types are going to push against the system on this, lest people start to become more curious about this individual and inquire about, for instance, his religious beliefs.
Thanks!
Say WA? Evergreen State ping

Ping sionnsar if you see a Washington state related thread.
I hear you. There’s plenty that needs looking at WRT this case but none of it has any plausible connection with the issues you bring up (and which I share). So there’s nothing to gain from bringing it up here and now.
Thanks for the support. However, we must speak up when it's wrong. Even tho the outcome is what I support (bad guy dead), the process of his execution needs looking into. We must speak up every time this happens.
This cop killer, child rapist, lifetime dangerous criminal is a far cry from a guy who wouldn’t come out of his house. Don’t compare the two.
excerpt:
A Seattle police officer on patrol came across a suspicious car that was running with its hood open at about 2:30 a.m. The officer pulled over to investigate, and noticed someone moving. He jumped out and saw the man investigators had been doing everything in their power since Sunday morning to locate.
The officer immediately recognized him and repeatedy ordered him to stop. He did not. The man began to run, it is not clear if he ran at the officer, and the officer opened fire.
...Officers say he was holding a gun that belonged to one of the Lakewood officers who was killed.
