LONDON Britain's University of East Anglia says the director of its prestigious Climatic Research Unit is stepping down pending an investigation into allegations that he overstated the case for man-made climate change.

The university says Phil Jones will relinquish his position until the completion of an independent review into allegations that he worked to alter the way in which global temperature data was presented.

Exactly! This “independent review” will say Global Warming is even worse than predicted and the solution is to raise taxes. All “deniers” subject to criminal investigation.

See what happens when public debate is silenced and there is a blacklisting and a smear campaign against those “traitors” who are “global climate change deniers!”?

There is global climate change. Every day. Every year. Every century. The planet rotates, tilts, and orbits a giant thermonuclear fireball in the sky.

Some examples of significant periodic global climate change that are NOT man-made are known as “night”, “day”, “winter”, “spring”, “summer”, and “fall”. Some longer trends have been called “an ice age”.

It is quack science to insist that Western civilization is killing the planet and that we require a socialist redistribution of trillions of dollars from the West to the Third World.

Most dangerous political-scientific theory since eugenics theory led to scientific support for the Holocaust in Germany and forced sterilization in America in the 1930s.

Will the “independent review” involve anyone who is in his email contacts or has any connection with any socialist organization or George Soros? If the answer is yes, then his work may as well be reviewed by spotted al gore.

The "independent review" contemplated by the brits is sham, but once the need for an investigation has been broached, it then becomes more newsworthy. It raises the profile of the fraud and exposes more opportunities for attack.

It is bracing to see the fraudulent Jones step down.

If you don't accede that he is completely innocent up front, you will be judged "unqualified" to participate in the independent review.

Piltdown Man
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piltdown_Man

In 1923, Franz Weidenreich examined the remains and correctly reported that they consisted of a modern human cranium and an orangutan jaw with filed-down teeth. Weidenreich, being an anatomist, had easily exposed the hoax for what it was.

However, it took thirty years for the scientific community to concede that Weidenreich was correct.

Here’s how the “investigation” will go down:

INVESTIGATOR: May we have your data, Mr. Jones, so that we might verify it?
JONES: Sorry, I destroyed it.
INVESTIGATOR: Well, we can’t convict without evidence, so our investigation is complete. Thank you for your cooperation, Mr. Jones!

I live where a glacier ended long before the impact of man on this environment. The idea that temperatures were stagnant was ridiculous and that a one degree or three degree difference in temperature over a hundred year cycle was cataclysmic was to disregard all that we knew about recorded history.
The trouble for the Global Warming crowd is that they should now know that people like Al Gore was playing them for fools all along. All this time they were convinced that they were the smartest, coolest, most informed group when now that the facts are emerging, they are being shown to be utter and complete fools by the very people who they idolized.

Let an outsider look over the data. Same with Kerry’s military record (which he only showed to a friendly Boston Glob reporter).

If there is nothing “improper”, it would bear stury skeptical review.

A good question. The people who invested in Madoff understood that all investment is risk based. He was dishonest, plain and simple, but he did give some returns to some people at the beginning of his plan. It wasn't originally completely bogus...as it turned out to be in the end.
Madoff didn't win an Oscar or the Nobel Peace Prize for his deceptions nor devastate whole sectors of the economy for his own profit. His profits and transgressions were small potatoes compared to Gore. What do you think would be proper punishment for Al Gore?

Another point about the Al Gore punishment is that he perpetrated his fraud on children. Millions of children who were made to watch his movie and repeat his drivel as fact. There is something particularly heinous about his appeal to children. A man who knowingly misinforms children for his own monetary gain is a very vile creature.

This is a very large scale fraud case.

It’s like someone taking investment money in manufacturing a “perpetual motion machine” that has ginned up the results to spur investment.

There has been willful deceit at a high level and certainly at the core some knew about it.

Al Gore and his cronies denounced anyone who would challenge the findings by saying “too late, consensus is in, only ‘flat-Earthers’, ‘creationists’, and ‘retards’ don’t accept the reality of man-made global climate change”. There was no public debate. No outside review from skeptics was tolerated. There was an “industry” blacklist of those who challenged the findings.

How about “banishment”? Put Mr. Gore and his family at an outpost on the moon?

In the UK where it has been shown in schools, a court found that there were something like 8 certifiable lies in the movie. It can still be shown in schools but the students are informed of the falsehoods.

When Mr. Gore was confronted with a question regarding this, he listed off one or two and said that while the polar bears are no LONGER endangered (numbers are up from something like 5,000 to 25,000) “somebody should tell the poor wittle polar bears...” guffaw guffaw.

He’s a pantywaist and cannot debate the evidence. He has helped to perpetrate a fraud.

"I’m betting that countries like China and India will help to expose this fiction as they have no intention on playing the game."

I'd hold off on that bet if I were you. *developing economies* (i.e. China and India) were exempted under Kyoto, and I'm guessing would also be under anything that comes out of Crapenhagen. It's about fairness, you understand, and holding back the succesful nations and redistributing their wealth, while allowing lesser states to catch up.

China and India would love to see heavy industry in the west shut down altogether.

I've got my fingers crossed nonetheless.

It may be false hope, but I keep going back to a quote from an AP story on 11/24:

Trenberth, a well-respected atmospheric scientist, said it did not appear that all the documents stolen from the university had been distributed on the Internet by the hackers.

This, of course, refers to Kevin Trenberth,  head of the climate analysis section of the U.S. National Center for Atmospheric Research in Boulder, CO, who is in the thick of the leaked CRU emails.

Are there more? Are UEA, NCAR and the  IPCC running scared? One can only hope.
