The Case for Jeb Bush Entering the 2012 Race (massive barf alert)
Race42012 ^ | 2009-12-01

Jeb Bush is unique in that he is both unknown and known. He can certainly win a GOP primary, and can raise the money to compete with frontrunners Palin and Romney. I think Jeb will be getting more involved over the next several months, starting with the Florida senate primary. I also think Cheney is a Jeb proxy, and that his attacks are meant to undermine Obama while moving the country back into the Bush/Cheney policy direction, awaiting a new leader to take the torch from the former Vice President. Remember, Cheney earlier this year, unprompted, suggested he would support Jeb Bush for president in 2012. Considering that there are significant people in the party harping about a Cheney run, as well as a media fascination with such a run, coupled with the realty that a 71 year old with a bad heart simply will not run, opens the door to Jeb Bush taking up the mantle in 2012. Bush would fill that media desire to clash Obama with Cheney, only enhancing it.

With Huckabee and Palin potentially sitting out in 2012, there is a huge opening for someone to take up the anti-Romney position. Bush, with his vast network of connections, his organizing potential, and the generation of political chits collected by the Bush family, puts Jeb in as good a position as a Pawlenty or a Daniels to make a bid and challenge Romney. Now if Palin runs, and the field fills up, then Jeb will likely wait until 2016, or simply stay out of public life and let his son, George P. Bush (nicknamed 47 by the family) take up the presidential legacy down the line.

Hardly worth discussing.

It’ll never happen after 12 years of Bush I & II. The country simply will not stand for it, no matter what a great guy Jeb may happen to be.

Better to set your hopes for the next Bush on Jenna or Barbara Bush.

It’s gonna take that long (or longer) for the legacies of GHWB and GWB to diminish enough so that people will even consider voting for someone from that family again.

"I mean, look how great sticking to our ideological guns has worked out so far."
If you are so hot on people giving up on their beliefs, why don't you give up on your RINO beliefs and join us conservatives so we all win?

I am really sick of family dynasty politicians.

Should only a Kennedy replace Ted Kennedy?

Same with the Bush family.

Enough already.

Look at the field — Sarah may be mortally wounded going into it.

Baloney. You want to believe the state-run media, or your lying eyes?

I really like Thune. It wouldn't be hard for you to check his record.

There are two other men that I really like: Duncan Hunter in CA, and Inhofe in OK.

You’re not really picking up what I am putting down here, are you? We need the most Conservative candidates we can find up and down the ticket! We should NEVER cease that pursuit. But when all is said and done, we then need to look to the least bad option.

Sadly, too many “purists” turned their nose up because they were too ideologically “pure” to stoop to an obvious RINO like McCain.

That worked great, didn’t it?

I seem to recall that 1928 was the last time the Republicans won the White House without having a Bush or a Nixon on the ticket.

What’s Julie doing now?

Vote for a Bush? Oh sure...

I’m also considering moving into a home that has 50 illegals aliens living next door, that like pit bulls and mariachi music.

Let the good times roll!

America is NOT supposed to have grand aristocrat families that hand power down, our Founding Fathers would shudder at the thought of the Rockefellers, Roosevelts, Kennedeys and Bushes. Enough!

So, michell obama in 2016 for you? I mean, look how great sticking to our ideological guns has worked out so far. 11 months of “hope and change” brought to you by ideological purists.

The perfect is the MORTAL ENEMY of the good.

If the Republicans want Obama then they will nominate the same old same again.

You see, it is their job to put up candidates that their party will vote for. It is not our job to vote for "a yellow dog" if they put it up to run.

I am not to blame for Obama being in office. The Republican Party is to blame for nominating John McCain.

That was an error.

They should not repeat that. Because I will NOT vote for McCain II any more than I voted for McCain I.

Sarah is set to beat Romney head to head for the nomination - having Jeb there will simply draw votes from Romney and make it that much easier for Sarah - and help us get this process over sooner, rather than later.

“Seeing as how I am only passingly familiar with Pence and have no idea who Thune is and I am politically plugged in...”

How many politically plugged in people had never heard of Barak Obama three years ago? How many had never heard of Bill Clinton when he was gov. of Ark. Or Palin? Or even Bush, pere, before he was veep?

In this new media age you can go from complete obscurity to household name in a day.

>>Baloney. You want to believe the state-run media, or your lying eyes?<<

I love Sarah. But I am realistic enough to see that she MAY (note I said may) never be able to travel the road we need her for. Thank that jerk McCain for shoving her in front of the curtain before she even had a few minutes to get prepped.

But reality is reality.

Why in the h3ll am I fighting all of you on this thread? Does this “reality” thing have any effect on your lives?

Be pure — give us 20 or 30 years of democratic rule resulting in the removal of capitalism and the USC! And then get together and glad hand each other and smile and say to one another “I was a PURE Conservative — I didn’t vote for any dang RINO!”

That and $5 (plus the new 2017 michelle obama $4.50 coffee tax) will get you a Starbucks latte to enjoy the victory your pure hearts have earned.
