The Cobert report that followed tore in the Yale guy that wrote the book from green to gold and made him look like a fool.

Every once in a while Stewart hits one out of the park. His first ACORN piece was a grand slam.

My favorite part of this, the part that makes me laugh and never gets old; “An overwhelming number of Scientists have agreed that Climate Change (no longer called Global Warming) is caused by man.”

But the e-mails show something entirely different. When 1,000 “scientists” chime in and 250 agree with your point, 700 are discarded, silenced or discredited, then there are only 50 dissenters and that proves an overwhelming consensus.

This story appears to be actually gaining momentum. It has legs and is getting to a nice stride.

This isn’t anything good. Stewart acknowledged climategate, cherry picked an unfortunate comment by the opposition, and then proceeded to summarize that climategate is bad, but global warming is real.

They're going to go kicking and screaming. If society decides to accept this fraudulent "science" as fact, then all science is irreparably harmed. Why? Because there will no longer be a dis-incentive for scientists to lie.

Science built on lies is arguably the ultimate manifestation of the anti-Christ because it violates truth to its very core, and God IS Truth.

The end of AGW is near. Good thing Al Gore didn’t sell his Occidental Petroleum Stock. BTW, this is what made the Gore’s rich. Also, remember as VP Gore arranged for the Strategic Oil Reserve to be sold to Occidental. Remember also, Bush had to restock the entire reserve because guess what, we had two wars in the Mid East. Dems, at a some sticky sickly level you have to admire their chutzpah. I guess you can get away with these actions if you own the media.

Believe me, the pressure by Big Media is so strong, it will take herculean efforts to get the news of Climategate out to most disinterested Americans. I’ll bet ninety percent still have never heard of the recent uproar.

We may think it’s gaining momentum,
but for a reality check,
ask any “benchmark lib” that you know.

Odds are that they have either not heard of the scandal,
or will take the position that it doesn’t matter,
and we should go ahead with emission reductions anyway.

Eugene Robinson:
“ Most Americans are convinced that climate change is real -a necessary prerequisite for the kinds of huge economic and behavioral adjustments we would have to make to begin seriously limiting carbon emissions.”

From Alinsky's Rules for Radicals:

5. "Ridicule is man's most potent weapon. It is almost impossible to counteract ridicule. Also it infuriates the opposition, which then reacts to your advantage."

Alinsky didn't cover what happens when even your allies start ridiculing you.

I agree, brownsfan. One has to wonder what he bases his belief on if the foundational research is utterly invalid...

John 8:44 pretty much describes the ideology of the left:

You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies

"Value added data? What is that, numbers fortified with art? Truth plus, now with lemon?"

Good, that.

i think ClimateGate has been a turning point in AGW fraud.

Australian opposition leader was already thrown out in a shock move (at least partially because of the climategate) and many well-known scientist are investigated for fraud. Jon Stewart is very influential as many young people have it as their sole news source. MSM silence does not have that much effect on young people.

I think the Obama-worshipping campus crowd is going to collapse in numbers now that AGW has been acknowledged as a fraud (and accepted as such ie those evil conservatives were right after all) and when they realize the truth about massive tax increases and health care limitations.

But that's the point. If you care about an issue, and want it to be your life's work, don't cut corners. It's disheartening for people inclined towards the scientific method, and it's catnip to these guys who are going to end up celebrating tonight drunk, roaming the Arctic Circle trying to skullf**k polar bears, which are quickly disappearing because of rising oceans caused now apparently by God's tears!

I don't whole-heartedly applaud Jon here. Although I agree that this is a sign that climategate is getting some legs, I'd say that Jon is trying to minimize the story as much as possible rather than completely ridicule it.
