I can't speak for anyone but myself...I support that quote from Jim's quote. :)

I also support the stated pre-emptive strike concept but are you willing to consider that attempting to be RINO-free is just tilting at windmills? To acknowledge that a known RINO did something right invites well-deserved criticism, IMO. Let's just get on with it and declare the RNC a failed organization that cannot be made functional as a reliably conservative political force.

Interesting.....am I willing to acknowledge that a RINO did something right? There are times when a RINO might make a correct decision, it doesn’t mean they are good for our country. What TICKS ME OFF is their failure to abide by conservative platform. They have twisted the republican party into something I don’t recognize. Your point is taken.

The RNC cannot be made into a “reliable conservative force”, and we shouldn’t really bother. the RNC exists to provide a way to get a majority vote so we can enact legislation. To do so, it has to judiciously accept membership by a majority of the electorate, which means tailoring acceptability based on local electoral concerns.

This is best done by closed primaries, where locals pick their candidates in a system where they are pledged to support the winners in the general election.

This is the best chance for Conservatives and Moderates to maximize their effectiveness. This is like game theory, if we go for 100%, the moderates will want 100%, and we’ll all end up with 100% of nothing, while Pelosi and Reid laugh all the way to the socialized country they desire.

It’s like we are building a human pyramid to get to the top of a wall, but whenever we get close, someone starts shooting the base to get rid of people they disagree with.
