Scientists Back Off of Ardi Claims (Evos give climate-hoaxers a run for their money...LOL!)

In May 2009, a remarkably well-preserved extinct primate, nicknamed Ida, was hailed as one of the most important fossil finds ever. It had features that some interpreted as a link between two primate body forms. At the time, ICR News suggested that its evolutionary significance was far overblown, predicting that the scientific consensus would offer retractions. Those retractions came three months later, confirming that the fossil―called Darwinius―was really just an extinct lemur variety...

When this “find” was announced the link they tried to make to man made no sense to me. I said to someone they will find out that this is an existing species.

What? Scientist objectively evaluating a scientific claim in order to get the correct conclusion from the observable data available? Scientist challenging and correcting other scientific claims based on evidence? The free market place of ideas producing the best & accurate conclusions . . . What a concept! That’s what happens when the only dogma is the process not the conclusion.
Too bad we can’t apply the same standards to the biblical flood or the exodus or the earth standing still or the existence of biblical characters . . .

Could you be more specific?
The fossils were heralded as missing links and it turns out they were wrongly classified.
What’s the lie here?
Is it that the author said that the fossils weren’t what they were claimed to be in the first place?
Or that someone initially claimed that they were something they weren’t after all?

No, a person who believes that the bible is literally true without exception is a member of a small sub-band of Christianity. The rest of us know that allegory does not equate to lie.

There’s been more than one single incorrect claim about a fossil in the scientific world. Evolution is replete with claims that have eventually proved to be bogus.
The problem is, that when the claims are made, they are heralded with great fanfare. When they are debunked, it’s swept under the carpet.
It’s dishonest to keep trumpeting the triumphs and not admitting so vocally when you were wrong.
One reason is that it’s the cowards way out. The other reason is that it leaves the false impression that much more evidence exists connecting man to primates than is really out there.
Either way is deceptive, either outright lying, or allowing a lie to propagate without correcting it as strongly as announcing it.

I agree with you that this is not current thought but rather it is historic in some of the old great sermons of many years ago. The seminal point is that which ever approach the evolutionist take they are often confused at the best and guilty of overt deception at the worse (Piltdown man). tk
To: RoadGumby

xcamel just likes to call those whom she disagrees with “liars” regardless of the veracity of the accusation. Thus, when she calls creationists liars, she is herself committing a lie. And you know what, her evo-atheist animal impulses are perfectly ok with it.

Yes, evolution is a LIE.
I feel sorry for people who put their “faith” in evolution and are constantly disappointed when the latest wishful thinking or hoax is exposed. How sad that for many, evolution is their RELIGION!
