I think Walker found out that Artillery could chew up Chicoms faster then their mommas could breed them.

Walker wanted to head west from Pusan, rather than north west. That would have cut off the Norks with a line thick enough to prevent infiltration. He didn’t want to fight the same guys twice. General Gay, a staff officer in Patton’s 3rd Army, went along with task force Lynch from Pusan to Seoul. General Gay was sitting next to Patton when Patton’s car accident took place.

Walker: Patton’s bulldog.

A UAV that costs the same as an economy car? Many to choose from...

The list is MUCH longer than this. Israel has many cheap UAVs.

But none of those cheap ones have weapons systems. Find something that can carry an anti-aircraft machine gun, or 500lb bomb, for under $50k. Mass produced. And it’s a big plus if they can be launched off a short ramp.

I like the idea of a stealth reconnaissance UAV. One of the things the military needs to do is use LIDAR to map the interesting sections of Afghanistan. Once the terrain is mapped, a stealth reconnaissance UAV could be used as a fire control platform to continuously kill the bad guys. Bring in some ground launched missiles contollable by the UAV plus FLIR and you can track and kill almost at will without returning to rearm. Rather than program expensive missles use a dumb missile that takes guidance from the UAV.

The bad guy wouldn’t even know a UAV was killing them. Missles could snag them any time.

A man before his time. Definitely.

Actually, came from before composites, copied from a Sunday morning color comic by Al Capp. Skonkworks was where they made the kikapoo joy juice.

It was stinky because Kelly Johnson wouldn’t clear janitors, so the place collected dirt until the engineers couldn’t stand it.

My bad. At least I can spell Boeing... since I’ve been there for 37 years. :>)

Not the first person to make that error. In fact, at White Sands there is an old airport named “Northup field” that was originally cleared and laid out by Northrop Aircraft. A clerical error on the part of the base map maker.
