I don’t know why you posted this to me, as I didn’t write what you are attempting to quote.

This started rumors that Townshend was gay or bisexual. In the November 14, 1990 issue of Newsweek, Townshend explained: “I know how it feels to be a woman because I am a woman, and I won’t be classified as just a man.” Regarding “Rough Boys,” he said, “In a way it was a coming-out. That it was a real acknowledgment of the fact that I’d been surrounded by people that I really adored - and was actually sexually attracted to - who were men. And that the side of me that responded to those people was a passive side, a subordinate side.”

From songfacts.com. His words not mine. He’s a freaking flamer!!! And I never posted the text.

A dude singing “Rough boys, come over here, I want to bite and kiss you.”.....is pretty gay. I wouldn’t sing it.

Its The Two, not The Who. I’d rather watch their Isle of Wight DVD than whatever those two think they have left.

If the NFL really wants to do something with their halftime show, get the Led Zeppelin surviving members to perform with Jason Bonham on drums.

It would bring the house down.

I have come to the sad conclusion that the NFL allowed a boob to be exposed the minute they let Timberlake and Jackson on stage.

I believe that was tried a few years ago, and even JPJ said "never again". Bonzo Jr is no Bonzo.

The live album from their 1989 tour, “Join Together” is one of the best mixed live albums I’ve ever heard. Full horn section and Simon Phillips on drums. Check it out.

Nobody alive is Bonzo, but the kid has sentimental reasons for being up there, and he did fine behind the kit at the London reunion in 2007.

I saw that tour in 89 at RFK, and didn't much care for it. Townshend stayed acoustic because of his tinnitus condition, and the whole thing seemed overblown. Even though Simon Phillips has the chops, as evidenced by his work with Jeff Beck.

I much preferred the Cap Centre gig in 82 on the Its Hard tour. They absolutely leveled the place. Great concert.

You missed where even JPJ (zep's bassist) said NEVER AGAIN.

Robert Plant and Jimmy Page will work together any time, but JPJ will NOT deal with the egotists any longer.

Jason Bonham is a COMPETENT drummer, but no more than that. I can think of a dozen drummers who are on a par with Bonzo's kid. I can name three local drummers better than Jason.

But Bonzo's kid is now approaching middle age. He's DONE, without ever doing anything.

Sorry if that offends your sensibilities, but that's how I see it.

I was at Led Zep's last show here in America. At the time we didn't know it was to be the last show. Oakland Coliseum. A little band called Judas Priest opened, followed by Rick Derringer and then the Zep. Bonzo had punched out one of Bill Graham's people which complicated things to say the least...

I seem to remember the concrete walls of the stadium visibly shaking during the concert... wow man... :) 1977...

I am just a bit (OKAY, a LOT) green over that little tidbit of zep trivia. Dang, I’d have loved to have been there, since I’m a Priest fan too. We won’t even mention the “Hootchie-Koo” again, okay?

I’m still living down declining FREE tix to Supertramp’s last show. Including airfare. I STILL don’t like Hodgeson’s pretentious lyrics OR style, BTW, but it would be a conversation starter FAR better than “I hated Supertramp’s sound so much...

You missed where even JPJ (zep's bassist) said NEVER AGAIN.

You missed where he played with Page at a Foo Fighters gig last year AFTER the reunion. Which led to his current project with Grohl on the Crooked Vultures CD.

And you missed where Page and Jones contemplated touring WITHOUT Plant following the reunion.

Plant probably because he doesn't think his voice can handle Zep material for an extended full slog, unlike that soft country stuff he is doing with Alison Krauss.

But I'm not talking about a tour. A one-off at the Super Bowl would be grand, and it would be far better than Roger and Pete dicking around.

Townsend isn’t a pedophile and even the British courts stated as much; which is why he his “sentence” amounted to a slap on the hand. He admitted entering a site (research or not) publicly said he did it, accepted his punishment and apologized for his actions.

The largest piece of evidence that should show Townsend is not a pedophile is that not a single person, not one, ever, has come forward and accused him of any type of abuse.

Given the guy is worth more than a small country, if there was someone out there who’d been abused by Townsend, you betcha they’d be at a lawyers office filing suit after suit.

Btw, we consider those who sign up for an account to pimp their blogs trolls around these parts; have anything worthwhile to offer?

The Bonzo thing was so bad that Bill Graham had a warrant sworn out for their arrest if they ever returned to the Bay Area. Of Course Bonzo never did. Zep’s next stop was to be New Orleans from Oakland... Plant’s kid had some sort of stomach complications in Greece and died. The tour was cancelled then and there. Plant later broke his ankle—thus delaying another tour. Then Bonzo died and Led Zep just faded away...Having never played in the US as the original line up since Oakland ‘77.

At least you provided some actual quotes to defend your position.

If it was a ‘coming out’, why did he specifically reference the ‘first-person’ persona as FEMALE three times?

(A question for you to ponder, I don’t know that you could be expected to provide the answer, since you aren’t Pete Townsend)

Who else?

How about Toby Keith? I doubt the NFL would even consider asking him.
