“Won’t be fooled again!
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
I saw Pete here in PDX, he can still wail it out, very impressed.
Yeah, it’s not like Pete is R. Kelly or Roman Polanski. There’s no evidence that he’s ever molested children, but there’s just some vague allegations of him looking at illegal photos on the internet. If Pete does have pedophile tendencies he’s appeared to have dealt with them responsibly by keeping them in check for a lifetime. It’s my recollection that “Tommy” had some themes that indicted pedophilia. The NFL should bring on The Who instead of some awful “American Idol” style BS.
But Limbaugh is banned! One more reason to join me in switching to REAL football-—the College game. T have watched 1 NFL gane this year and snippets of a couple others....I have never enjoyed football as much.fl
As the title of this article suggests, they won’t be playing “The Kids Are Alright” at the halftime show.
He was doing research, okay whatever.

Ugh..never liked the Who. I tried once..couldnt get away from Zeppelin long enough to enjoy them. Maybe I just havent heard the right songs by the Who to get me hooked.
Oh and the Pete/offender thing..honestly WHO cares.

Lyrics to “Rough Boys” before he admitted he was gay.
Tough boys
Running the streets
Come a little closer
Rough toys
Under the sheets
Nobody knows her
Rough boys
Don’t walk away
I very nearly missed you
Tough boys
Come over here
I wanna bite and kiss you
I wanna see what I can find
Tough kids
Take a bottle of wine
When your deal is broken
Ten quid
She’s so easy to find
Not a word is spoken
Rough boys
Don’t walk away
I’m still pretty blissed here
Tough boy
I’m gonna carry you home
You got pretty pissed dear
Gonna get inside you
Gonna get inside your bitter mind
Rough boys
Don’t walk away
I wanna buy you leather
Make noise
Try and talk me away
We can’t be seen together
Tough kids
What can I do?
I’m so pale and weedy
Rough fits
In my Hush Puppy shoes
But I’m still pleading
Tough boys
Running the streets
Come a little closer
Rough toys
Under the sheets
Nobody knows her
Rough boys
Don’t walk away
I very nearly missed you
Tough boys
Come over here
I wanna bite and kiss you
I wanna see what I can find!
My problem with it is, without Ox and Moonie, it ain’t “The Who.”
“Child AbuseWatch” should be expending their time and resources trying to have actual Child Abusers exposed and prosecuted rather than trying to damage careers of people who’ve never been alleged to have engaged in child abuse. Get Roman Polanski extradited and I’ll be impressed.
I don’t buy it, Pete has always written songs as different characters, I mean you don’t really think “Uncle Ernie” or “Cousin Kevin” were autobiographical?
Welcome to Free Republic.
I take it your handle indicates you like to watch child abuse?
Sick.
What don’t you buy? Those are his lyrics from his solo album from the song “Rough Boys”. He admitted to being gay, and admitted to doing “research” looking into child porn.
From Wikipedia:
By the 1990s Townshend was still a popular interview subject although his comments were sometimes given a scandalous spin. A 1990 book of interviews by Timothy White, Rock Lives, contained Townshend’s thoughts on the meaning of his song “Rough Boys” that gave the mistaken impression that he was gay or bisexual. The information was picked up by the British tabloid press that spread this misinformation around the world. Townshend kept silent on the issue out of respect for his gay friends, until clarifying in a 1994 Playboy interview that he was neither gay nor bisexual.
You will find that a lot of FReepers and “libertarians” have no problem with people viewing images of child sex and child rape. Some even call it “art”. I once had a flame war on this topic with some pervert and Jim Rob had to give us a time out. heh. Two guys and a thousand or so posts...
It is really sad to wake up and read that its legal in Texas to show hardcore porn to children, gee what possible reason could someone have to do that? desensitize them to sex maybe? Then of course its easy to find legal sites with nude children. Our culture is stupid, we treat kids like little grown ups, its very sad. And we wonder why they turn out weird?
Did you know there were nudist camps for kids where the parents are NOT allowed? What possible reason would someone send their 13 year old daughter to spend the summer around 17 year old boys with no parental supervision?
This culture needs a lot of work!
That pretty much covers the mindset at work here.
In a 2002 interview with Rolling Stone magazine, however, he explained that, although he engaged in some brief same-sex experimentation in the 1960s, he is heterosexual.
He’s been all over the place with his I’m gay, not gay, he said at one time he led a “gay life”, etc. There’s plenty of people who think he’s gay, but he’s not very comfortable talking about it in public.
Same sex “experimentation”, kiddie porn “research”, OK Pete.
Let’s just say I don’t think Pete is a red-blooded, normal, heterosexual dude.
I have no issue with him perfroming.
I have heard he had homesexual tendencies at the least.....even his solo project...”Rough Boys” obviously has homosexual overtones.
Someone can smack someone on the ass in a bar while intoxicated, and be labeled as a “sex offender”. I surely don’t advocate such behavior, but it isn’t bad enough to ruin someone for the rest of their life.
Welcome to FR, blog pimper. I assume that you like child porn too. You can watch it and claim you are doing research too, just like Townsend. Hypocrite.

Pete Townshend, guitarist for the Who, has divulged his bisexuality in an interview in a new book in which he says, “I know how it feels to be a woman.”
Townshend, who has been married to Karen Astley since 1966 and has three children, revealed that he has been involved in homosexual relationships in the past. He made the statements in the book Rock Lives: Profiles and Interviews, a collection of interviews by music writer and radio host Timothy White.
“I know how it feels to be a woman because I am a woman,” Townshend said in the interview. “And I won’t be classified as just a man.”
Townshend said his aversion to the macho rock star ethos ...
