Good point, the American people’s wants are their needs. Reagan said that in American “perception is reality”.
That has yet to be determined.
Next thing you’ll be telling me is he scored 100 points in one game.
But golf is not just about the integrity of the game; it is also about the integrity of its players.
Perhaps now the 100 Billion pound elephant in the room will be discussed.
Tiger Woods is a Performance Enhancing Drug User.
Sportswriters are terrified of the issue and his peers on the PGA Tour are either privately very upset, or just accept it as a trade off because since Tiger came on the scene everyone is making a LOT more money.
I’ll tell you one guy who is likely seething in his own juices over this, Jack Nicklaus. It’s time for this whole facade to fall now, he’s cheated on his wife and he cheats at his sport.
I’m not defending the guy but here’s some amateur psychology.
Earl was a huge influence on the kid I believe.
Earl died in 2006.
Aren’t a lot of these bimbo eruptions starting right after that?
i was hoping for the same thing.
He hasbeen great with the perssbut never answering questions, i hope that continues as well.
Pretty much the same as you.
Wow, you are so right. Tiger is such a victim. Let’s all feel sorry for him. LOL!
So would you.
True dat. Woods was brought up with a golf club in his hand, and now he finds that he can’t be much of a husband.
Never got those skills, they are all in his 9 iron.
He and his family will get on the way they have to. I laugh though at how unkind people can be at other’s tragedy.Obviously most have never had tragedy in their own lives, or else they would not be that way in relation to the issue.
I read a comment from one of the women who said her affair with him started in 2003 when he was engaged.
I have a hard time believing that, for many reasons.
First, performance enhancers would have negligible benefit in golf. It’s simply not that physically demanding of a sport.
Second, while Tiger has increased significantly in size since he turned pro, he hasn’t really gained all that much in distance (nor is he the longest hitter on tour, or close to it). What distance he has gained, if any, can largely be explained by his swing changes. But these swing changes weren’t undertaken to give him an edge in distance, he did them to make him more consistent and so his swing wouldn’t hurt his back (now legs) as much.
Third, Tiger is the richest athlete in the world. As such, he has some of the best trainers/nutritionists in the world advising him on what to eat. Tiger’s workout and diet are very regulated. Under these circumstances, most people with average to above-average genes could look like Tiger. And I say this as someone who lifts weights four times a week and keeps in pretty good shape.
Fourth, even before the PGA implemented a drug-testing program, Tiger voluntarily did drug testing because people raised suspicions like yours.
I’m not saying it’s impossible, just that it’s hard to believe. The benefits a golfer would get from drugs are not enough to outweigh the risk of getting caught. If you think it’s bad with the adultery right now, drugs would destroy his career.
So would I what?
Did not say he was a victim.
I just don’t feel like jumping on the band wagon to denigrate him.
We’re still very much Puritan, Captain, while secretly wishing we were in Tiger’s paws!
“Oh man, you dont think he was doing the dog, too?:
My first thought, too: He’s a sociopath.
