The waiting time at Sahlgrenska University Hospital’s psychiatric clinic in Gothenburg was so long that a man in his forties who was seeking help gave up and went home, with the assistance of a close relative. Soon after the man left the house and took his own life.
The Swedish Board of Health and Welfare (Socialstyrelsen) has strongly criticised the hospital’s clinic, which has also acknowledged its poor handling of the man’s case. “We ought instead to have judged the patient immediately, with consideration of the risk of suicide,” Sahlgrenska’s operations chief, Jan Svedlund, told Sveriges Radio in Gothenburg.

Jesus christ. strange comments. btw. it´s not really unusual that someone who is treated (or like in this case not) in a psychiatric clinic commits suicide. this happens all the time in all countries.
I was intrigued by the few comments holding Cuba as an example of high-quality, “free” healthcare. Clearly, those folks haven’t seen the inside of hospitals in Cuba for Cubans...they must be seeing the glossy photos of hospitals for non-Cubans paying cash money, and assuming that the inmates of Fidel’s paradise get the same treatment.
but suicide (or lets say depression) realy looks like to be a primary problem of western society. ok russia has the highest rate (maybe life there really sucks :-) but without russia there are only western countries in the top ranks. no muslim hellhole and/or 3rd world basket case even comes close.
Are suicide bombers depressed? Perhaps we need to have an investigation.
Just add some Zoloft to the water in Muslim countries and all the terrorism will stop, eh?
well i guess suicide bombers are not mentioned in this statistic ;-) btw. this idiots do not think they will lose something if they die. they really think that they will get their 72 virgins becaúse of that. now if we could only convince them that they would get their virgins too as long as they point a gun to their head (cry alah akbar) and then pull the trigger. the rest of the world would be so much better off.
That’s an extra 400 kronen in the national treasury. Get a few more to whack themselves, and the national debt is history.
Depressed? Not really.
