Global warming's doomsday prophets
NY Post ^ | December 8, 2009 | Rich Lowry

The phrase "doomsday cult" entered our collective vo cabulary after John Lof land published his 1966 study, "Doomsday Cult: A Study of Conversion, Proselytization, and Maintenance of Faith." Lofland wrote about the Unification Church. His subject could almost as easily have been the Church of Warmism.

Its college of cardinals has gathered in Copenhagen amid professions of an imminent global apocalypse that allow no room for doubt or deviation. "The clock has ticked down to zero," declared UN climate chief Yvo de Boer. Yes, the end is nigh -- just as surely as when the Millerites gathered on Oct. 22, 1844, to witness the Second Coming, only to comfort themselves at the end of the night, "Well, maybe next year."

The news on global warming has been interesting lately, particularly our local news.
The newsreader covers the Copenhagen conference and the dangers of global warming followed by our local weather. The weather segment covers the unprecedented early winter and cold weather. Here in Hampton Roads we are having late January weather, not early December weather. We’ve even had frost in places. There’s even a chance of a white Christmas!
Our local weather people snicker when asked about global warming.

“Our local weather people snicker when asked about global warming.”

This is really quite a change from 6 months ago when I noticed most weather people I would see wouldn't even do
this for fear of their jobs. The dominos are falling...

Global Warming Alarmists are Dr. Stranglove...

=

=When was the last time you heard a scientist get hysterical when you asked him to explain Einstein's theory of relativity?

If you ask a scientist why nothing can move faster than the speed of light, he doesn't tell you a terrible story about how koala bears will die if you don't believe the theory is right, does he?

Scientists who are confident and in command of the facts don't need to distort data and duck basic questions about the assumptions that are behind scientific theories.

Back in history, settled slavers had it that slavery was good for commerce - good for a region of the country. Slavery deniers came around describing how slavery wasn't good for America. But the settled slavers kept up their mantra of doom if slavery didn't exist.

Climate change alarmists are the slave-holders and eugenicists of the modern era.

Yep. It seems the only people who still preach it are those making money from it.
