I believe this domestic terrorist tactic is often referred to as “Polar Bear Hunting” in the BET community.

In NYC in the 90's it was known as "Herb"ing....a Herb being a lone white male, usually wearing glasses.

I live in an otherwise wonderful inner city neighborhood. But down the block from us is a notorious Section 8 ( = almost entirely black) apartment building, and it has recently become a source of crime in our neighborhood. The house two doors down from ours was burgled about a month ago. About two weeks ago, our good friends around the corner got hit. Same M.O. in both cases: the parasites comes in daytime when decent people are at work, kick down the back door, rifle the house, and split. I know these are kids because they take video equipment, shiny things, and personal electronics and do not bother to look for fencible or pawnable items, or the victim's drugs and weapons, as a professional thief would. The cops found a trail of athletic shoe prints leading from our friends' back door to the apartment complex. To date no suspects have been IDd or arrested, nor has any of the stolen property been recovered.

I'm a professional writer, so I'm at home working during the day. The day after our friends were robbed, I cleaned and oiled Mr. Mossberg and moved him to an easily accessible location (I keep him put away when Baby Chan is at home). Should the Section 8 Gang choose my home as their next target, I'm prepared to take their lives if necessary in defense of my life and the lives of my family members.

Most of the employees of our family business are black. Among them is one guy, a longtime employee and family friend, who does cabinetmaking as a side job. About two years ago, this man was in my home building bookshelves when he spied a black teenager ride by our house on a bike. Our friend downed tools, went out the front door, and watched as the kid rode away. He then turned to me and said, "Black people got no business in this neighborhood. That kid is looking for a place to rob." "He's probably just going to the store or something," I replied. He looked at me like I was crazy. "No he ain't. If you see a black kid that age in this neighborhood, he goin' to rob or kill somebody. Call the cops." At the time, I thought he was going a little bit overboard. I no longer think that.

All I have is a SW Model 10-8 38 special with a 4inch barrel. It was a Silver Anniversay piece my step-mother purchased for my father when he reached 25 years of service with the CA Dept of Corrections. I’ve been wanting to purchase a semi-auto, but haven’t been able to afford the weapon I want yet - everytime I turn around one of my kids or cars requires lots of money.

A while ago I got attacked by a gang of about 7 thugs like this.

Fortunately, I was right out of the military, so I was in the best shape of my life.

I was just minding my own business, and all these guys started slugging me. I was next to a busy street so I began trying to throw these guys in front of the moving cars to take out a few.

I wish I could say I killed a few, or even beat up a few. But at least I was lucky to fight them off as I retreated to a nearby gas station. Once I got there, in the light, they all retreated. A couple minutes later a cop came by to give me a ride home.

I’ve got to say, that experience gave me a sick feeling fear in my stomach that’s probably still part of me.

It IS kind of funny in retrospect, and it did make them pause for just a few seconds...LOL, I think I must have figured a bluff was worth the effort. But I did have some basis in my mind somewhere...

We has a young guy of korean (I think)extraction get assigned to our squadron. Now, we had all heard some stories long before he showed up to us, and even though his name was Timothy Nariumaya, he was apparently known as...get this...”Bruce Lee”. The rumor was, he had something like a 10th degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

When he showed up, he was a very small guy, I would say 5’4”, and his features sure looked Korean to me. Very mild, quiet guy.

Anyway, we had this bizzare initiation ritual to our line shack crew on the ship called “greasing”, involving say, 10 people jumping on someone enmasse, and smearing thick black molybdenum grease on their, umm...bare posterior. (I know...times are different and all. This would be grounds for disciplinary action and a lawsuit today)

It was a ritual that was borne with good humor by most. You were expected to struggle and resist as hard as you could, with the impossible goal of somehow escaping out the door. Nobody ever did, but I suppose if you did that would have relieved you from being subjected to the ritual obligation. There were a couple of guys who went completely limp, and they were subjected to the er...ritual more than once. It did get pretty wild on occasion with people being thrown against walls and such in the process, and I am amazed nobody ever got seriously hurt.

The point is, if you were a rookie, you kind of knew it was coming, but you never knew when.

Anyway, we were planning to get Tim when he came down off the flight deck one day. The door opens and he walks in with all his flight deck gear on, eyeballs the crowd and says “You guys can do what you want, but I won’t be responsible if anyone goes to the hospital.”

Nobody touched him. Nobody had ever actually SEEN him do any martial arts, but...who would take the chance? As it turns out, I saw him sparring with the USMC Top Sergeant of the boat (GSGT Douglas, who was later killed in the Beruit bombing of the Marine barracks) in the hangar bay sometime after that. He gave an entire foot and probably a good 100 lbs at least to the Gunny, and the Gunny looked like he had his hands full...

What's really appallinbg is that even now the Zebras are called "serial killings" instead of hate crimes. What a diabolical and suicidal path we travel in the selective use of Orwellian language! They were blatant and horrible racist hate crimes but Whites are still too intimidated by the race bullies to give them their proper name.

I hear you, but I was on a military base, in a heavily populated, heavily traveled area with one barracks with three stories of windows on one side 20 yards to my left, and another just like it 20 yards to my right.

Agreed. It was a surprise to me, I can tell you. After an entire life of living on military bases, and serving on them, I had never encountered anything like that.
