LONDON - Swine flu is far less dangerous than originally feared, British officials said Thursday — about 100 times less lethal than the 1918 Spanish flu.

To determine how deadly the virus is, the British health department tracked all reported swine flu patients hospitalized between July and November. In a paper published online in the British journal, BMJ, experts estimated that out of every 100,000 infected people in Britain, about 26 died.

It is. The odd thing is that the biggest toll is on the 18-25 year old age group. They have been hit very hard and fast — even many that got the vaccination. The Military has been hit very hard on large bases.

“What would they do if they gave a pandemic, and nobody came?”

The flu that wasn’t!

No, it hasn't killed me yet (day 5 today) but OH how it's trying.

I have NEVER EVER been this sick in my LIFE.

"The odd thing is that the biggest toll is on the 18-25 year old age group."

Myth!

Truth: (from the Journal article)

Results
"With the official mid-range estimate for incidence of pandemic A/H1N1, the overall estimated case fatality rate was 26 (range 11-66) per 100 000. It was lowest for children aged 5-14 (11 (range 3-36) per 100 000) and highest for those aged 65 (980 (range 300-3200) per 100 000)..."

"You mean there is neither global warming nor a swine flu crisis?"

No crisis? - What are we going to do? This is a crisis!

"The death toll seems high ..."

The CDC has no data available to support this propaganda.(shades of global warming)

They need deaths for their agency to get increased funding (the primary goal of every govt agency) so they will not post any true data, just "estimates."

I’ve had it...I had fever for a few days, cough, runny nose, headache. I had a rhino virus earlier that made me sicker and lasted longer...although I had no fever with it.

Funny how that works...Only thing I did for the flu was take elderberry supplements and some vitamin D3, stayed in and drank plenty of fluids.

NOT a myth. I have family in the medical field. H1N1 is attacking and often killing young adults. It attacks the respiratory system and in particular the airways. It is less of a threat now because autopsies found this out and the medical community has responded. Initially the CDC told them it was heart involvement. My family was at the bedsides of young healthy adults that died from it in different parts of the country. So if you want to believe the propaganda go ahead. I have people I know and trust who have witnessed it with their own eyes.

For me, I ate eggs every day. The protein in eggs is just about exactly what you need to boost your immune system.

And I drank lemonade - GALLONS of it!!

Good luck, hang in there!
