Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site
12/11/2009 | Jim Robinson

Posted on 12/11/2009 5:57:16 PM PST by Jim Robinson

Free Republic is a fringe right-wing Christian fundamentalist site... or so they say... and they might even be right.

We don't go for any of that godless left-wing big government socialist malarkey. And we do put our faith and trust in God, not government. We are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family, pro-Country and pro-Liberty.

We do not believe that government or science knows what's best for us or our children. We will make our own decisions thank you very much.

Every once in a while some group of posters get together and try to bend Free Republic to their will. Now, we tend to be pretty free-wheeling around here and will take a lot of guff and a lot of obnoxious insults from a lot of people, but eventually a breaking point is reached.

For example, when a group of RINO lovers recently banded together to try to force FR to accept an abortionist/gay rights RINO as our presidential candidate, they soon found themselves on the outs.

And a few years ago a group of evolutionists tried to force FR over to their way of thinking and they soon found themselves on the outs.

FR is a pro-God, pro-Creator, pro-Life, pro-Liberty site.

And now we have yet another group of Darwinists trying to have their Darwinist way with us. Well, as I've said before what doesn't kill us will only make us stronger.

Darwin Central has again declared war on FR. They have ping lists and email lists and will try to pull away as many FReepers as they possibly can. So be it. Those who would rather go with Darwin, please go. I sure as hell won't try to stop you.

FR will remain a pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator conservative site.

We wholeheartedly believe that our unalienable rights are a gift from God our Creator not from man or government. And no man, no government will ever deprive us of same.

Keep your powder dry.

Strike out the “fringe” part.
More Americans are pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Liberty, pro-Creator and conservative, than anything else.
Sounds like mainstream the heartland of America to me.

One of the many things that I admire about FR, it weeds out non conservatives. (If I wanted to be around liberals, I’d read the Seattle PI or Times).

I was heartened to see some recent statistics that a majority of Americans no longer think that Darwin is infallible.

I wonder how much longer they’ll put up with a government and judges who will permit nothing but Darwinism in our schools, and who strictly forbid anyone from even suggesting that the General Theory of Evolution is, well, a theory, and that it might not be entirely true?

I guess I dont get when FR stopped being about the Constitution and liberty and the pursuit of limited government and started to become a “christian fundamentalist” website.

Not all freepers are Christians . Some are Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu, Atheists, Greek Orthodox, maybe Quaker, Moromon, Roman Catholic or whatever.

And as far as the Darwin thing is concerned. I dont know if man came from monkeys or a garden in Mesopotamia, and quite frankly I dont care.

And God knows when it became so pressing to too many folks here that it warrants a post from the top guy, when we have bigger fish to fry, cause Obama dont care who made you, he just wants to control you.

We need everyone we can get, and if this is dividing us, then we have real problems.

Well said! Individual rights granted by God are what sets America apart from all other forms of governance. The American government serves at the will of the people. This present government has been perverted by democrat liberal corruption. We need to remove them from power at every level and every institution in our land. They are the most serious threat to America that she has ever had.

Sites like Free Republic are becoming the bastions of freedom and will help us to defeat the enemies of America. God Bless Free Republic, God Bless you Jim Robinson!

Is it possible to believe in Creation through evolution?

A great many of us believe that evolution is the how, but God is the Why.

Count me in somewhat too. God created everything, including science. Im not a 100% believer in Darwin nor am I a believer that dinosaurs were on Noahs ark. I will not attack either side and hate seeing Freepers fight about this stuff.

I think he’s saying that FR is a 1776 site: “Endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights...”

Significant because the rights given by the Creator cannot be taken away by anyone but the One who gave them.

If our rights to life, liberty, and pursuit of happiness don’t come from the Creator, then who/what do they come from?

"Sadly though, either I am a moron and cannot comprehend the information they give me, or no one has rationally explained the difference between adaption and evolution. How does one species turn into another?"

I think there was a guy who wrote a book trying to explain that a few years ago.

I wonder what ever happened to him?

The fundamental principle underlying the Declaration of Independence and Constitution's protections:

"The God who gave us life, gave us liberty at the same time: the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them."- Thomas Jefferson

According to Jefferson, that idea represented the "American mind" of 1776.

Should be good enough for 2010 as well!

Those who find fault with that idea simply don't understand how America came to be a refuge for the oppressed from all over the world. Their ancestors understood it well, however.

But apparently I am a small "c" christian. I do not bow down to any ideology, religious or political. I have made my living at one point working to elect conservative Republicans. My idea of "conservative" might be different than others. All I know is when I starte lurking here 11 years ago and joined 10 years ago after the Clinton protest on the mall, there was no litmus test.

I'm not a believer in letting the opposition have control of the meaning of words.

The Leftwingtards want to claim that the "Fundies" represent a specific division in Christianity. I prefer to think of the word as referring to those who are well within the pale of Christian belief ~ or the Judeo-Christian tradition ~ and sometimes just those who refer to that set of beliefs and the tradition for counsel (which includes just those who read Proverbs).

God said He could raise believers up from the rocks on the ground, and He can, and they are everywhere ~ even in venues where The Word has never been heard as we hear It.

Call me an Ecumenical Fundy if you want ~ but that's the way it is this day in December 2009.

Amen, Jim,

I once was given a description of a Darwinian as being the type of person who would sit patiently at an auto junk yard, waiting for that Ferrari they so yearned for to ‘happen’ - either by lightening, windstorm, or earthquake to trigger it’s creation from the primordial mix of all the required elements which were definitely present.

Just thinking of that puts them in perspective for me.
