Four Errors in the War Against Huckabee
Pajamas Media ^ | Dec. 12 | Adam Graham

Posted on 12/12/2009 8:24:49 AM PST by AJKauf

Many conservatives have made a concerted effort to bury Mike Huckabee over his decision nine years ago to grant clemency to Maurice Clemmons, who became a cop killer and child rapist before being killed by police. Being a former Huck-basher turned Huck-backer, I watched the blog sniping of the past week with some sadness. My support of Huckabee isn’t exactly mainstream in the blogosphere. What I witnessed this past week was several people I respect making fools of themselves.

I see four errors made in the war on Huckabee:

1. The Rush to Judgment

Michelle Malkin wrote her first post on the killing before the bodies were even cold and got several facts wrong. The prosecutors did not object to the commutation. The only information Huckabee received was in favor of the commutation. As of this writing, Malkin has yet to correct her post. To rush into this with incomplete facts and never to bother to correct the record shows the kind of diligence we might expect from MSNBC.

While some are genuinely upset by the clemency, overall, the deaths of four police officers have taken a back seat to the desires of Huckabee’s political opponents to destroy his presidential chances in 2012. One would be hard-pressed to imagine any other former governor taking so much blame for having made a prisoner eligible for parole, the parole board then granting parole, a prosecutor’s incompetence leading to him walking despite a parole violation, and two judges in another state letting Clemmons out on bail despite him facing eight felony charges including child rape. The four police officers’ deaths should not have been used as a political prop in an intramural feud.

2. The Strategic Bungle...

The driver of the getaway car was also pardoned by the Huckster, he was in for a double murder.

Huckabee is a RINO, so he has gotten what he deserves.

There are no “errors” about Mike Huckabe.

The only true error is Huck fans NOT SEEING what the Huckster is. For example, explain why ILLEGALS should be given MERIT SCHOLARSHIPS over LEGAL COLLEGE AGE STUDENTS. Or the FACT that Deomncrats LOVED him for his TAX AND SPEND policies. No, Huck is anti abortion but on EVERY OTHER ISSUE, he is the SAME as a DEMONCRAT. Huck will also try to BLAME SOMEONE ELSE when cornered. He is another anti abortion DEMONCRAT.

The ONLY reason he had a talk show was to promote himself for anther run. At best, the Huckster is a HUMANIST; not a Christian. He needs to peddle his lies to someone else.

If the right continues to demonize and cannibalize its front runners, describing as ‘RINO’ anyone who has a single position they disagree with, we can look forward to hearing the words President Obama for 8 years instead of 4. And God only knows what kind of condition the republic will be in after that.

Let the Dems specialize in electing talk show hosts and celebrity hounds...I for one would never support this man...he rings as hollow as the Tin Man and I do not believe a word he says...no proof, no posturing, no bullshit is what we need...someone who would defy their own party or walk away from a locked-in government post because they believed they had to in order to do some higher good...if I could only find someone like that to vote for...someone who has absolutely walked the walk and has unimpeachable conservative values...hmmm...maybe a governor or former governor of an important energy producing state, one of the most pressing issues of our time...someone who believes in the sanctity of life...someone I KNOW would never throw a family member under the bus because they have done something that might hurt their chances politically...someone who I KNOW has the same values (yes, I said it...I am a VALUES and CHARACTER voter)...someone about whom we know everything in their past and how they will probably react to situations...someone who has made small towns and States work, been an EXECUTIVE officer in local and state government...

Now if only we could find someone like THAT...

What, did St Peter retire and leave you the keys to the Kingdom?

Bon voyage, Huck. The GOP won’t survive another RINO.

But, if we keep going along with RINO’s, we could end up losing the WH and both houses of Congress...that would suck...

He is also a nanny stater! Wants folks to be required to lose weight and exercise, and quit smoking to get health insurance. Yet controlling as that is, no mention of “other” habits that are far more dangerous, even deadly, some of which are in growing numbers, protected rights.

When politicians start addressing those habits, instead of touting and celebrating them, then they can talk to the American public about controlling peoples lives. The hypocrisy is astouding.

Huckabee’s political career is over. Huckabee’s political future doesn’t exist. How difficult is this to understand?

I still preferred him to McLame. At least pre Palin.

I thought it likely that Huck would implode or go off the rails; I considered it a certainty that McCain would run a crappy campaign. Huck might be a hypocritical doofus but at least he would have ran as if he wanted it and delivered some chops to the other side, IMHO.

The fact that we got beaten by a shallow Chicago thug of dubious credentials who had to fight a bruising battle against a wicked and ruthless primary challenger tells one all you need to know about how pitiful our candidate pool was last year.

First, I don't think that most here call Huckabee a RINO over just one disagreement. In this post and others I've seen people explain the many differences they have with him.

Second, I think that if Huckabee would win the nomination, the leftist press would have a field day with both Huckabee and the Republicans with their hypocrisy compared to Dukakis and Willy Horton.

Third, we better vet the heck out of whoever is to be the conservative standard bearer, as the press will be digging like mad to destroy this person. The fact the Huckabee will not be able to survive the scrutiny from the conservative base makes him a liability.

Huckabee commuted 1000 sentences. SOME of that number has to be correct, whether it is precise. Many Govs commute ZERO. It sounds like ‘turning the other cheek’ applied to murderers, to me.

I was not even aware of a "war against Huckabee." I thought he was doing a pretty good job of self-destructing without any outside help.

“At best, the Huckster is a HUMANIST; not a Christian.”

YOu: What, did St Peter retire and leave you the keys to the Kingdom?

It is CHRIST that is the foundation to the Kingdom of heaven.

If you’s actually READ your Bible, you wound’t come up with such nonsense.

Heb.11:10
[10] For he looked for a city which hath foundations, whose builder and maker is God.

As any REAL Christian KNOWS, we are to make a righteous judgment call:

John.7:4

[24] Judge not according to the appearance, but judge righteous judgment.

In John 16:8 the “he” being spoken of is CHRIST; not Peter, another SINNER.

John.16:8

[8] And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:

No, Peter is another SINNER who is NOT HOLY. Just as you and I are not holy. God is NOT about to let another SINNER take over the role of Christ or head HIS CHURCH. GET REAL! Start reading your Bible and get away from HUMANISM and LIES TAUGHT TO YOU. YOU have NO EXCUSE in believing LIES.
