Politician Sarah Palin demonstrated she possesses a sense of humour when she got her own back on William Shatner for making fun of her book.

The Star Trek star appeared on The Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, reciting passages of Palin's autobiography as if it were poetry, accompanied by a jazz band backing.

In recent appearances on the late-night television show, Shatner has adopted a serious pose and mocked some of Palin's less serious observations. Sarah Palin

He was brought out again last night to read passages from her bestseller Going Rogue.

The carefully selected passages included sections about rapper Kid Rock and stalking sheep.

When Shatner finished the performance, Palin strolled out to wild applause - and went on to give Shatner a taste of his own medicine, reading from the actor's autobiography Up Till Now.

So the main point of this story is that Shitner is just another leftist Hollywad ahole.

Because it’s not news that Palin can hold her own.

Didn’t Shitner do an LP of him reciting poetry. And it was supposed to be serious?

And I see by the comments under the story that the Brits, even while their country is pulled down the vortex of the crapper BECAUSE OF THEIR LEFTIST IDEOLOGY, are still idiots who don’t get what is happening.

It won’t be until the neo-Soviets start dumping their bodies in mass graves that they have any hope of realizing how brainwashed and utterly stupid they are.

I agree that the comments reflect British left-brainwashed culture....

I hope you are wrong. There must be a hard core group of military types, other conservatives etc. that will fight back. It looks as of now, Labor is going to take a thumping in the next election. I think in some area they are running third behind the liberals.

You do realize Conan and Shatrtner were in on the joke, right? Or do you think Conan just let's people walk out onto his stage whenever the urge hits them?

Still a very funny bit, with both Shattner and Palin doing a great job. Funniest thing on Conan since I don't know when.

She is FEARLESS! Right into the Lion’s Den.

Shatner looked as if he had forgotten to wear his Depends...all wee-wee’d up!

Oh of course they were in on it, they did a great job. Shatner’s face was priceless. He did a great job, Sarah did an amazing job and loved the audience reaction

Do you for a moment genuinely suspect that neither conehead nor Cap’n Kirk did not previously know that Sarah would be on. It was a skit, it had been announced earlier in the day. Very little on any network TV is unplanned, although it is likely they may indeed have been unprepared for the audience reaction to Sarah.

It was a very funny skit. Sarah has posted pictures on Facebook taken in the greenroom before the show. One has Shatner signing a copy of his book for her. He was in on the joke.

LOL wee wee’d up!! Anyone know the ratings for last night’s show. I hope Conan clobbered Letterman. I think Letterman might have been wee wee’d up last night after seeing Sarah go to the competition

This is a stroke of genius for her. Let them make fun of you, play it up.

Everyone had a good time, and minds where changed because she is accessible and can take a joke. I highly doubt that Obummer would hold up so well to the scrutiny. Just take a look at how thin skinned he is now and that is when 99% of the press is kissing his ass 100% of the time.

Lighten up - it's just a comedic bit by a bad actor. Palin showed she's a good sport and won some admiration by demonstrating a good sense of humor last night. If it makes you feel any better about Shatner, here's an interview he just did with Rush Limbaugh. It's pretty good and pretty fair - Rush talks frankly about personal issues like his childhood, his hearing loss, and his struggles with addiction as well as political issues.
