The Florida Department of Children and Families paid a visited Tiger Woods' Florida home on Saturday, according to reports.

The agency went to the golfer's mansion mid-day, accompanied by a marked police car, radaronline.com reports without naming information sources.

Officials, though, wouldn't confirm or deny the report.

"Child abuse, adult investigations in the state of Florida are confidential," said Carrie Hoeppner, an agency spokeswoman, told the Daily News. "I'm just not able by law to give confirmation about whether we visited the family and that is in the interest of protecting the child."

It's protocol for the state department to investigate domestic violence that occurs in homes.

Time for the Woods family to move away from the U.S.

Obviously the Fl Gov. seems to think their job is to totally destroy The Woods Family lives.

Maybe the National enquirer is desperate to keep the story going.

This is SICK.

Sounds like SOP to me. Given the (unconfirmed) media reports of Elin going on a rampage prior to Tiger's doomed escape, can you imagine the outrage that would ensue if they DIDN'T investigate? Living in a mansion doesn't exempt one from "the child services".

No surprises here. But it's a drag nonetheless -- now The State will get their sticky fingers on this and ride it for their own 15 minutes of fame...

I don’t think the FL government has to do anything to destroy Tiger Woods’ life. He’s doing a swell job on his own.

Considering the police should have investigated DV at the scene (and tested Woods for sobriety), the state is doing what should have been done in the first place.

It’s Flor-i-duh.

Some of the worst DSS workers in the world reside in that state.

They can conceive of some of the dumbest things to impede families, and ignore some really horrible, obvious problems in others.

I hated dealing with them professionally.

"Time for the Woods family to move away from the U.S."

Well, Sweden is the last place you'd want to go if you want a refuge from the 'social services' nanny state.

No...I don’t think the government or Governor of Florida is ‘destroying’ Tiger’s life. He had done a pretty bang up job on that all by himself.

Police/ambulances have been at the Woods manse multiple time since Thanksgiving...Child Welfare paying a visit is pretty standard given the young ages of the minor children involved.

The National Enquirer has had very little to do with this story outside of the Rachel Uchitel story.

getting angry at your husband for cheating on you is not abuse of your children.

of course, going into someone’s home with the potential of taking their children because they had an argument is an abuse... of power.

Yep, they're after Elin here, and are looking to control the kids.

Elin should have bolted for Sweden with the kids while Tiger was in the hospital. She would get fair treatment there.
