The Florida Department of Children and Families paid a visited Tiger Woods' Florida home on Saturday, according to reports.

The agency went to the golfer's mansion mid-day, accompanied by a marked police car, radaronline.com reports without naming information sources.

Officials, though, wouldn't confirm or deny the report.

"Child abuse, adult investigations in the state of Florida are confidential," said Carrie Hoeppner, an agency spokeswoman, told the Daily News. "I'm just not able by law to give confirmation about whether we visited the family and that is in the interest of protecting the child."

It's protocol for the state department to investigate domestic violence that occurs in homes.

The real question here is whether there has been a complaint of some kind, or if Big Brother has undertaken this all on his own. If it’s the latter, welcome to the VERY FRIGHTENING fascist state.

It’s possible that Tiger’s Mom reported Elin, no one knows and probably will never know what caused CPS to get involved.

“what caused CPS to get involved”

Don’t rule out ideology. Tiger Woods dissed Bill Klintoon once, refusing to meet with the d*ck-in-chief during a tournament. And his late father was a proud veteran.

If Tiger had the views of say, Danny Glover, he wouldn’t be getting nearly as much invasive scrutiny, JMHO.

Tiger is the only one, unless you count his hookers and his enablers, who has destroyed his life.

It is possible Elin's mother contacted them after observing something Tiger did. Sociopaths have no conscience.

Joe, that picture is the first one where I see Tiger's daughter smile. All the pictures and clips I have seen of her, she looks sad or frightened or confused.

Have any of Tiger's siblings have come out to defend him?

Make sure Tiger pays you in advance in cash for your PR services. Liquidity might become an issue if a nasty court fight breaks out.

Obviously the Fl Gov. seems to think their job is to totally destroy The Woods Family lives.

I'm no fan of CPS and don't think they have any business here. However, maybe you haven't heard what Tiger Woods has done to destroy his family? I don't think that the FL gov had anything to do with it.

If it’s possible/probable that golf clubs were being used as weapons by mom and/or dad, I guess it sorta makes sense a danger might exist in the home. Florida CPS is incredibly flawed, though, so this might be a catch-22 situation.

Now THIS is really getting out of hand if true.......and totally assinine reporting if not.

radaronline.com reports without naming information sources.

Forget anonymous sources, anonymous sources should never be protected when it comes to news reports.......

“I am glad his Father didnt have to see what a sick bastard Tiger turned into.”

IIRC, dear ol’ dad had his own fidelity issues. Believe he and his wife divorced over it. (Again, IIRC.)

the state is doing what should have been done in the first place.

Thats total Bull crap and you know it! Child Protective Svcs. nationwide is the most incompetent govt. agency in this whole bloated government bureaucracy and to imply that they should have investigated the Woods household following a domestic dispute between husband and wife is not only assinine but totally moronic!

Especially, ESPECIALLY if there was no complaint called in to the police claiming domestic violence.

By your own twisted and idiotic logic, every single person being cited for careless driving should have your CPS demand access to your household to check on your children.......

You are so wrapped up in this Woods thing that you can't even think straight.............

Child protective services.........give me a F'n break!

> getting angry at your husband for cheating on you is not abuse of your children.

Of course not. However, physical "domestic violence" directed at a spouse (one can easily imagine an enraged Elin going after Tiger swinging a golf club) most often IS an accurate warning indicator for danger to the children in the majority of such cases. The agency can't make exceptions before the investigation, only afterward.

> of course, going into someone’s home with the potential of taking their children because they had an argument is an abuse... of power.

Under most circumstances, if kids DO get harmed, we all chime in "And where were the agencies all this time?". Can't have it both ways. They didn't just "have an argument", she ran out of the house swinging a golf club around with sufficient force to take out the windows in his car while he was driving it away from her. Or do you really believe that story about how she only used the club to help him out of the car later?

Don't misunderstand -- I think the situation is indeed as it appears to us: No threat to the kids at all from either parent, especially Elin. I'm sure the investigation will come out that the kids were not in any real danger. But it was not just an argument -- there was physical violence directed by one spouse at the other, and physical damage. They have to follow up.

You don't know that someone didn't call CPS. Chances are, they did. I wouldn't bet against someone in Tiger's camp, given the reports that she will file for divorce. Get ready for a nasty one.

My logic is that someone probably reported possible domestic violence and by law CPS has to investigate, that's how it works. There was obvious domestic violence and an attempt to hide it, coupled with reckless behavior. The POLICE SHOULD HAVE INVESTIGATED DOMESTIC ASSAULT AND DRUG USE but they DIDN'T, so here we are.

Interesting that you think domestic violence and drug use which caused a crash is not serious. Imagine if he made it out of the community gate or someone was on the street.

Your logic is flawed and completely stupid. But giving you the benefit of the doubt, I heard from one of your anonymous neighbors that you were seen slapping your spouse then one of your children so performing my civic duty, I called CPS to report you........

They should be arriving at your home shortly..........

You're clueless. People call CPS all the time and report domestic violence and drug abuse, esp when divorce is involved. You don't like it? Tell it to your life partner.

CPS is obligated to follow anonymous tips regarding child abuse. The visits are mandatory and don’t mean anything until the investigation is complete.

oh, i’m sorry... you misunderstand me.

the kids are the kids of those adults. their well being is the SOLE responsibility of the adults. the only time i would be in favor of the govt stepping in would be in the death/incapacitation of the parents and no close family can step up.

crazy me... i’m not on board with the nanny state. you are responsible for you and yours. period. if you abuse your kids, you should be advised otherwise... and asked to leave the community if you continue... otherwise, it’s not my responsibility to raise your kids for you.

going passed that point would be the slippery slope we find ourselves on today. where does it end? it only ends when the fedgov is coddling your spawn from womb to tomb.
