say what you want to what I’m about to say—but Romney i don’t think can make it that far based on his personality. in this media age where SNL and the Tonight Show actually DO play a role in shaping people’s perspectives—Romney doesn’t have the talent.

i have to do more research on Jindal, but my hope is for a Palin/Jindal ticket...Jindal (from what I know) is a solid conservative, he has a high approval rating as governor of Louisiana, he brings ethnic diversity (and religious diversity, he’s Catholic) to the ticket, seems to have good character, a down to earth family...He has a nice affable personality, — yet he’s reserved enough to not upstage someone like Palin but complement her. Yeah, my hope is for Palin/Jindal.

I don’t think he came off well in the debates, I can’t imagine him giving an inspiring convention speech—he’s a good fundraiser and has a lot of money himself, but he can’t motivate the type of grassroots support the way Obama or someone like Palin can.

he adds “diversity” as an Indian-American

and who gives a shite about that...I sure don't...we got diversity out the ying yang occupying the White House right now and it stinks to high heaven

man...I can't get over what passes for conservatism to day...obsession with identity politics

I support who I agree with and who can get elected. Palin is the best I've seen in decades since...Magnus...an outstanding old school traditional WHITE MALE with a folksy country sounding accent and he basically brought America out of another radical's reign depression and defeated the Soviets.

Jindahl is ideologically good but flat as a speaker and bring nothing....Palin has the Deep South white vote in a lock which is why she hardly hit here on her book tour.

She will need someone balancing who brings something she doesn't have...(there is a great segue on that but I will refrain).

In the meantime you will insist on constantly digging at her and her supporters? Not very convincing.

People get on threads and dig at candidates that they want to bring down, or stop, not ones that they think will be their favorite.

and about Jindal would bringing diversity as an Indian-American and a Catholic—Catholicism freaks a lot less people out than Mormonism.

What? Doesn’t he think she’s over 35 and a natural-born citizen who’s lived here for the past 14 years?

Show one instance where I have ever taken a dig at Palin. I haven’t. This is another example of your desire to distort others’ positions. I have repeatedly said I like her and respect her and she is under consideration but I am not ready to jump on her bandwagon—it is FAR too soon.

LOL, here you are on this very thread, post after post telling people to back off their support of Palin, even as you insult them over and over.

You are not very convincing at all, but we do get your message.

I really like Jindal as well...he's young and has a good governor record so far...2012 is going to be tough regardless...no matter how the economy is going, Obama will be tough to beat because Dems won't want to cut him off at one-term...it would be a total admission of defeat...watch them rally HARD no matter what...

As I said, Romney is a mediocre candidate...his general election chances are slim...his primary chances I'm think are 50/50 at this point...magritte

I agree on your point about religion as well...being a Mormon is a minus in the Republican Party at this point...do you think Cantor being Jewish is a negative? I think he is the only Jewish Republican at the national level...magritte

It must have been a small minority of FReepers that have since been purged because the amount of support Rudy had leading up to 2008 was miniscule compared to the Palin tidal wave that is sweeping across America.

I agree with you. I am sick of the way they answer questions by NOT answering. What a wimp. And I am getting very furious to see people starting to compare Governor Sarah Palin to Annie Oakley ---- yeah, right, like Governor Palin needs that frontier wild annie the shooter thrown & plastered all over her. Sarah is PRESIDENTIAL, not some weird rodeo sideshow.

Are there ANY conservatives in D.C.?

You said it FRiend. If the R’s nominate the wrong person it will be the lowest election turnout in US History and Ozero will be re-elected.

It was explained to me by another freeper that Governor Bobby Jindal isn’t a natural born citizen — because his parents were foreign students when he was born here in the USA; only NBCs are qualified to be prez, except perhaps for BHO. LOL

I think that you are right that in that case OzerO will win; however, I also believe that there will be a HUGE turnout of people who write her in.

Governor Bobby Jindal is not a natural born citizen, according to what another freeper posted to me the other day.

Yes hp! That will surely send the loudest message and will insure that the R’s learn the lesson that they should have in ‘08.
