They’re called Christmas trees when in the context of something that will probably catch fire and kill dozens of people, mostly adorable children, possibly immolating entire neighborhoods or urban areas. Mrs. O’Leary’s (?) cow was doubtless a Christian cow. If no one is being cremated, it’s a Holiday tree.

Use only LED lights, I have the same set for the last 5 years as they really last forever and they produce almost no heat.

Well, then we can rest assured that the White House has a Holiday Tree, and not one of those deadly Christmas Trees.

Why, oh why doesn't Obama outlaw these dangerous things???

My brother-in-law was a fireman and then worked in fire insurance. He convinced my family to quit buying a real tree and buy an artificial one. We also used to travel a lot during the holidays, so that was perfect. If you have ever seen a live tree burn, you realize how dangerous they are.

One year long ago, we bought a live tree at the last moment. It was so dry, so dead, you could hear the needeles falling from it from across the room.

We were afarid to turn the lights on it, afraid it would burst into flames.

Yes, if not properly cared for, watched, etc, a live tree can be a danger.

We still get a live tree every year.

I will not allow fear, real or imagined to stop a holiday tradition. A lot of things are dangerous. It’s a wonder I survived my childhood.

Why, my parents let me hold sparklers in my hand when I was a child, I climbed trees for goodness sake! My brother had a mini-bike at 8 years old-drove it straight up a fence on one memorable occasion>

Yeah, stuff happens....but not to everyone.
