Arnold: Palin’s full of hot air on climate change ("What was she trying to accomplish?" He asks)
Hotair ^ | 12/15/2009 | Allahpundit

Posted on 12/15/2009 4:10:47 PM PST by SeekAndFind

I’m paraphrasing, albeit only slightly. Not that he has many fans left among grassroots conservatives, but in case there are still one or two, this ought to finish them off:

The California governor has become an environmental standard bearer for the Republican party, which is split on the merits of curbing emissions. Sarah Palin, John McCain’s running mate in the 2008 presidential election, has attacked cap and trade and questioned any link between man-made emissions and global warming.

“You have to ask: what was she trying to accomplish?” said Mr Schwarzenegger. “Is she really interested in this subject or is she interested in her career and in winning the [Republican] nomination [for president]? You have to take all these things with a grain of salt.”

Actually, Palin-hater Eugene Robinson filled the better part of a column today with evidence of her interest in the subject as governor. If she’s all about pandering to tea-partiers, conceivably she could have declared that she’s “seen the light” and retracted all of her prior statements about the reality of climate change and the possibility that man is contributing to it. Instead, she’s apt to end up as something of a centrist on this issue in the GOP primaries, where Huck, Mitt, T-Paw or someone else will likely declare that the whole subject’s a fraud.

She came up in his interview with Stephanopoulos this morning too, mere hours before he told Copenhagen that he has his fingers crossed for “planetary transformation.” Click the image and skip ahead to -2:14. He seems to suggest that she’s an out-and-out climate-change denier, but it’s hard to tell since he doesn’t refer specifically to her in that part. It’s worth watching anyway, though, if only for the claim that environmentalism and economic growth can co-exist based on the happy economic example of, um, California. Exit question: This guy’s going to end up as The One’s climate-change czar as soon as he’s out of office, isn’t he?

Hey Ahnald! The Republican party may be split on this global warming /crap & Trade, Hope/Change thing but conservatives are NOT. We know it's a scam backed up with false science and designed to transfer wealth to the UN and the turd world stinkholes that infest it. Sarah Palin has called it right and unlike her former running mate is not afraid to say so.

ALL these RINOS should be given their walking papers, IMMEDIATELY and for ALL TIME. especially as regards Sarah, as it is CRYSTAL CLEAR that they see her unstoppable popularity as the ONE INSURMOUNTABLE THING which could conceivably crimp their own power, and HEGEMONY as RINOS.
What they can’t quite process yet, is that, even though they can’t possibly avoid recognition of her popularity, there’s nothing they can do to arrest it, or keep it from developing over the next year or two, WHICH IT WILL.
WHICH IT WILL EVEN FASTER , the more they try to marginalize her.

The left is scared to death of Palin. Every time a RINO or a left attacks Palin, we need to know that they are absolutely horrified at the fact that she will get the votes to turn them ALL out of power.

The left/RINOfaction crave power to subjugate America.

It is the only way that they can maintain thier siphon hoses on wealth, through government statism, not free society where we all have a more or less level economic playiing field. The statists can't compete economically with a free America and a free capitalist economy.

Therefore they want to control the economy into oblivion.

Palin will turn it absolutely around, and clean up the patronage and devolution of personal freedom we are now experiencing.

That shivers "ARE NOLT" and all the quitessential statists in the Obama Junta.

I love it when they whine. They know what's coming, like demons about to undergo a successful exorcism.

Such spittle, foaming at the mouth, and bombastic false predictions of everybody's oblivion except their own.

GO SARAH!

He lied to get into office, has done nothing about the budget, unions or illegals and panders to the Green Lie crowd.

He did stand up against gay marriage, but it was political, not his personal conviction. IMHO.

Arnold Schwarzenegger- Dumber than a box of rocks!

I bet you money Schwarzenegger wouldn't have the *alls to debate with Palin on this issue. You see Palin is much smarter than Arnold. Arnold's money and fame are a fluke. He made his money in being a crummy actor, making stupid movies. I don't care what anyone says, I've seen most of his movies (on Cable-I never paid for one of his movies at a theater or Rented a DVD or VHS tape) and they are comic book crap. He's just lucky- plane and simple.

His political future is over but I don't think he wants to leave the stoplight. He probably wants some type of job in the Obama administration. Republicans don't want anything to do with him and he's at least smart enough to know that. I wouldn't be surprised if he had some kind of financial interest in these Carbon Offsets although I have ZERO proof of it.

Ping to #30.

Heck I’ll even find a source...

While Arnold Schwarzenegger’s height was always believed to be 6 feet, 2 inches (1.88 m), a July 2002 article in US Weekly magazine speculated that Schwarzenegger was actually closer to 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m). During his campaign for governorship it was noted that Schwarzenegger was considerably shorter than many expected, with others putting his height at around 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m), exactly as reported in US Weekly. His spokespeople now give his height as 6 ft even (1.83 m). Assuming his height was ever closer to 6’2”, it is possible he may have shrunk slightly with age, although four inches seems too much to lose by the mid-fifties.

This particular area is a mine-field, politically. Palin is smart not allowing them to define her, despite attempts to paint her as from the “stone age”, a “flip-flopper”.

She is doing well - with all the reactions (that just simply propogate her opinions, and elevate them), but still difficult to attack.

AllahPundit hates Governor Palin. He's just pissed because Sarah outflanked both the liberals and potential GOP candidates. She took a realistic position on global warming as Governor and is now recognizing that it's a fraud and backdoor Marxism, and called it out.

The Left can't say she didn't do nothing about GW because SHE DID - even though it's the equivalent of kicking the can down the road, which was the perfect thing to do - and she didn't jerk her knee and embraced global warming hoax like Huck, Mitt, and T-Paw did.

That's why Allah wrote that, in frustration. Sarah has taken away an issue that would have been used to attack her and which reasonates with both conservatives and the independents/undecideds she'll need in order to win.

Sarah's answered back:

Why is Governor Schwarzenegger pushing for the same sorts of policies in Copenhagen that have helped drive his state into record deficits and unemployment? Perhaps he will recall that I live in our nation’s only Arctic state and that I was among the first governors to create a sub-cabinet to deal specifically with climate change. While I and all Alaskans witness the impacts of changes in weather patterns firsthand, I have repeatedly said that we can’t primarily blame man’s activities for those changes. And while I did look for practical responses to those changes, what I didn’t do was hamstring Alaska’s job creators with burdensome regulations so that I could act “greener than thou” when talking to reporters.

- Sarah Palin

OUCH!

The FReepers who continue to portray Palin as a lightweight, etc., need to keep following her progress.

If she keeps giving answers like that in a debate with Obama we could be looking at a Reagan like landslide.

Yes! But I don't have to apologize. I voted against the recall and for Tom McClintock. McClintock would have made a great governor. But most Californians were too stupid to vote for McClintock.
I was against the recall because of the principle involved. Californians were very foolish and stupid to vote for Arnold because he had a lousy background for the job. I think many were actually dumb enough to believe that Arnold could "go to Sacramento and clean house" as he said in the campaign.

Another thing that angered me about Schwarzenegger is that Conservative Talk Radio was responsible for getting the recall on the ballot. And yet he refused to go on these Radio Stations and talk about the campaign. Talk about backstabbing! Without this special election Arnold wouldn't be governor. He could not have survived a Republican Primary. He would have been exposed.

I had a bad feeling about the guy from the beginning. I knew he was a RINO and I wasn't surprised when he began appointing very radical people to state offices.

I did have to hold my nose and vote for him in the last election because the alternative was much worse.

From Arnold's interview:

George points to Palin's comment saying Obama should not go to Copenhagen and references an USA Today?Gallup poll that has 7 out of 8 Americans saying we should focus on fixing jobs and not global warming.

Arnold responds saying we can do both and proudly talks about green jobs in CA including an algae fuel farm! Then he says it is "nonsense talk" to just focus on the economy. You can do both, have a delegation over there on environment and and focus on issues at home. "No excuse at all to boycott" the conference. There are people that don't believe in "fixing the environment" and "don't believe there is such a thing as global warming; those people are living in the stone age..."

No wonder Sarah unloaded on him!
