GOP Sen. Collins: Health bill is 'too deeply flawed for me to support it'
Washington Examiner ^ | 12/15/2009 | Byron York

Posted on 12/15/2009 6:04:16 PM PST by SeattleBruce

"I don't see voting for the current bill that is on the floor, even with the improvements that have been made," Collins said. "I'm very leery of the impact of nearly $500 billion in Medicare cuts, particularly the cuts in home health care, which are completely counterproductive to the goal of lowering costs."

Collins explained that she is continuing to work on the bill not because she intends to vote for it but because, "I think something is going to pass, and I would like to make that bill as good as possible, even if ultimately it's not a bill that I can support."

They don’t call her Coy Collins for nothin’ up their in Maine.

Is that what they call her? I call her, "the Senator who talks like a 'tard," and people seem to know who I'm referring to. (Although, come to think of it, maybe they thought I was referencing Lautenberg?)

What in the H is up with that, anyway? Is that an accent? A speech impediment? Or just how she talks?

What ever happened to the good people of Maine?

I hate to say this, but I think the Reid and Schumer are about done with all the fooling around and that they’re going to go for the 51 vote nuclear option.

And watch the country rumble to a ROAR. It will seal their doom for a decade as we extract ourselves from their arrogance...

WE’RE NOT CALLED THE TEA PARTY FOR NOTHING...we revolted against the king before, and while it may not take the form of Bunker Hill this time, we’ll DO IT AGAIN!

The Dem’s haven’t lost Snowe.

They may have - see post 13.

Yeah, and this whole debacle was DOA up front as we were told by "conservatives" in the GOP party.

Sorry, I'm just to the point of not taking the B.S. laying down anymore.

Sure we love to hate RINOS, but if they vote no and one or two RATS vote no, we’ll have a temporary reprieve/victory. Those are big ‘ifs’ I’m aware.

That would be “up there” in Maine.

Oddly enough, I wouldn't even consider this to be a "conservative revolution" in any way.

Fewer than 40% of Americans even support this stupid bill (and that's assuming they even know the details), so it's a no-brainer for anyone to be opposing it.

Democrats seem oblivious to the polls which, heretofore, they lived by, so let them die by the same polls now.

I figure they must be counting on amnesty and redistricting to save their sorry butts in 2010.

If Bernie Sanders and a few other far lefties heed the call of the Kos and Howard Dean, the Dems may end up killing their own damned bill.

They'd have to do major, major restructuring of the bill to conform it for the budget reconciliation exception (wouldn't they?). Do they have time to do that? I don't see how.

Anyway, "The Won" won't let him do this now and spoil his SOTU. Maybe next year though.

Right. I agree with you about that. But we’ve got to take the fight in stages, or we’d go nuts (Alinsky rules.) This stage of the fight has seen them strip the bill down of the favorite liberal candy and just leave in other massive 2,000 pages of a shell of socialist crap.

Are we there yet? Of course not. Are we having an impact...yes. Will it pass, and how, who knows? But we will keep fighting and if it does pass we’ll fight on more, till we gut it more...

The DAY OF RECKONING IS COMING FOR THESE ARROGANT RATS.

the 51 vote nuclear option

Afraid you are right. They want this cut and dried so it
doesn’t spill over to the 2010 election.
Some do have a memory and hope these people are picked off
in the next election
