WASHINGTON, DC (Herald de Paris) - EXCLUSIVE - Researchers have revealed the first images from the Caribbean sea floor of what they believe are the archaeological remains of an ancient civilization. Guarding the locations coordinates carefully, the projects leader, who wishes to remain anonymous at this time, says the city could be thousands of years old; possibly even pre-dating the ancient Egyptian pyramids, at Giza.
The site was found using advanced satellite imagery, and is not in any way associated with the alleged site found by Russian explorers near Cuba in 2001, at a depth of 2300 feet. To be seen on satellite, our site is much shallower. The team is currently seeking funding to mount an expedition to confirm and explore what appears to be a vast underwater city. You have to be careful working with satellite images in such a location, the projects principle researcher said, The digital matrix sometimes misinterprets its data, and shows ruins as solid masses. The thing is, weve found structure - what appears to be a tall, narrow pyramid; large platform structures with small buildings on them; weve even found standing parallel post and beam construction in the rubble of what appears to be a fallen building. You cant have post and beam without human involvement.
Asked if this city is the legendary city of Atlantis, the researchers immediately said no. The romanticized ideal of Atlantis probably never existed, nor will anyone ever strap on a SCUBA tank, jump in the water, and find a city gateway that says, Welcome to Atlantis. However, we do believe that this city may have been one of many cities of an advanced, seafaring, trade-based civilization, which may have been visited by their Eurocentric counterparts.

Kind of hard to believe that with all the mapping and research done in the Caribbean this is the first time we came across this.
It is quite amazing.
where is the sarcasm tag?
Yes...especially with the Starbucks prominently displayed in the lower left edge of the city.....
*made you look!* :)
Didn’t Edgar Casey call this during one of his sleeping trances?
Clearly. I'm sure AlGore will back me up on this.
You really don't expect us to believe sea levels can rise and climate can change naturally do you?
More voters for ACORN to sign up.
Wonder how deep they were in debt.
uh oh....you mean the seas have been rising for ALL THESE YEARS????? OMG....where’s the SKY is Falling guy???? We’re gonna die!
I think your right on this. I am sure it was Global Warming that caused it. Better than an Ice Age which is GUARANTEED TO HAPPEN AGAIN
I believe in America today, 1 in 4 mortgages are “underwater”. But it appears that in some ancient cities, the situation is far worse.
Ooh, I see it! Right next to the dock where, knowing their fate, they sent out ships to all corners of the earth...on board were the 12...
At what depth? ... There is a deeper ruin in the Black Sea, IIRC.
Yes he did, from what I know of his readings. I've heard and seen that mentioned many times in shows and articles about his life.
That looks just like an aerial shot of the San Fernando Valley in LA County.
I’m going to read the whole article, but I find it hard to believe that you can get pictures this sharp and detailed while looking through 2,300 feet of sea water.
The top just looks like artifacts from saving images in small file sizes. The bottom... so the water is THAT clear we can see such details on the sea bottom through hundreds of feet of water.
Top image, top left side, appears to be airport/runway.
Aaaamazing! Even clouds under water!
Musta have been built by fish-people.
Kinga Husssein Oooobama taxed them soooo much, that they sunk!
boy, this is interesting. Somebody aught to tell Sunken Civ!
I bet they'd find a statue of Helen...Thomas, that is...
Nothing new. Back in March and April of 1966 the major newspapers had several articles about sunken cities “found” off the coast of Peru and Chili.
Nothing was ever mentioned about them again.
The “researcher” is anonymous, the location is “hidden” - classical signs of a hoax.
OTOH, maybe all they had was SUVs...with no freeways, how do you get to grandma's house?
These folks got drowned out after the last iceage ended....just ask the polar bears....Damn! This is getting complicated.....Algore is in Copenhagen....maybe if I call him to explain.....no, wait a minute...there can't be any polar bears....Gore said so.....just, Damn!
Maybe if I got good at photoshop I could do some images of prehistoric Starbucks off the coast of Hawaii...and with our Nigerian banker friends could raise money for an expedition and research. Hehe, I'd rather go to Hawaii than the Caribbean :D

I don't think I'd buy shares in anything this guy is selling.
There are several different types of “satellite imagery”, such as radar, visual, infra-red, or combinations of them. The article doesn’t say which one was used. So there’s no way to guess how realistic the images are.
Thanks Abathar for the topic, GeronL for the ping, and Quix for the additional link in an earlier reply in a different topic.

Ya mean that isn't an airport, under the ocean, in the upper left image?
Had me fooled.
They were underwater, clearly.
It looks fake, who is this Harold guy?
Yes he did. I’ve waited for decades for this to be discovered. He said that it was Atlantis.
What a farce, the top photo shows a shallow angle view of the ocean that has some poorly photoshopped weirdo image beneath. Same with the second - notice the clouds at the center top suddenly have this city in the clouds too.
Wow. They were a pretty advanced civilization. Roads, warehouses, parking lots.
Definitely way ahead of their time.
OMG-—Their mortgages!!! Underwater!!!! We’d better get a federal program going to bail them out!!!
It’s “Cayce” by the way.
Well...that certainly provided a welcome 45 minute detour from the present. Sunshine Superman, Catch the Wind, Barabajagal, and on and on. YouTube is great for the link after link after link (all the Donovan, for instance), and then the nifty little divergence (the Bob Dylan stuff, in this case).
But, back to work...
This, like Sundaland, looks like plain, old fashioned vanilla flavored gradualism, from glacial melt, IF it's really there; and "there" is really
in under the Caribbean.
The face that sunk a thousand ships?
This may be a good time to divulge that I and a small team discovered a much larger underwater city in a location that I can't identify for the usual reasons.
But it's there and it's huge, trust me.
It was discovered in the southern Caribbean, in May of 1999, on a Tuesday, around 3:35 pm local time.
