Gun control proponents often claim that suicide rates are driven by firearms availability. For example, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence promotes the “guns cause suicide” hypothesis. They note that nearly 17,000 people kill themselves with firearms each year, concluding:
Without stronger, sensible gun laws, thousands upon thousands of people will continue to die and be injured needlessly each year. The Brady Campaign fights for sensible gun laws to protect you, your family, and your community.
If guns cause suicide, international organizations must have some data proving this claim. Or do they?
The United Nations (UN) recently reaffirmed its commitment to global civilian disarmament, which began in the mid-1990s, as a way of ensuring worldwide peace and prosperity:
[T]he international community is more than ever aware of the importance of such practical disarmament measures, especially with regard to the growing problems arising from the excessive accumulation and uncontrolled spread of small arms and light weapons, including their ammunition, which pose a threat to peace and security and reduce the prospects for economic development in many regions, particularly in post-conflict situations…
The Graduate Institute of International Studies in Geneva, Switzerland publishes an annual report entitled Small Arms Survey. This organization doesn’t support civilian firearms ownership. Their Mission page states: The proliferation of small arms and light weapons represents a grave threat to human security. The unchecked spread of these weapons has exacerbated inter- and intra-state conflicts, contributed to human rights violations, undermined political and economic development, destabilized communities, and devastated the lives of millions of people.
The 2003-2005 and 2007 editions of Small Arms Survey contain estimates of civilian firearms ownership rates in selected countries. The UN’s World Health Organization (WHO) tabulates suicide rates by country (suicides per 100,000 population).

It is the liberal statists/socialist “assumptive reasoning” that is based soley upon emotions and non-verifiable data that is the total basis for their continued attempt to remain justified in their existance as an individuals greatest threat to their freedom, and moral right to self-defense...
Thats why when push comes to shove, at least in this country...We’ll still have the guns, no matter what they think they’ll be able to do about it...
Well...There’s car exhaust, cliffs, buildings, rush hour traffic, razor blades, and the inevitable death panels of national healthcare reform efforts around the globe...
Those are just a few that come to mind...;-)
If you do not have the guts to look a speeding train right in the eye as it runs you over and turns you into a pile of goo...Then guns are just to dirn easy to end your life...I’d tell someone your to much of a weak-azz to use a gun...
But then again I may be complicite and inciting someone to do something as drastic as taking their own life...
As opposed to doing what I could to actually guilt someone into actually saving their lives and take on the challenges to live ass best you could in the face of adversity...
Because at the end of the day, I would think you’d enjoy life better knowing you got through another one...

These gun-controllers do nothing to save lives at all...And that is the irony of it...
For all of us who carry a firearm for lawful self-defensive purposes, I believe we value life more in the ability to take a life to save one or more, than those who want to take away that ability and just let you die at the hands of those who do not respect life in the first place...

So even if guns were eliminated then many poeple still suicde. This is as allways about power, not safety.
Using their statistics, I find that GUNS SAVE LIVES. There were fewer deaths by firearms than the other methods combined. ;^)

Don’t you be clouding the issue with facts.
Even if guns further their non-sensible agenda, they cannot endorse them. They need guns taken away from the ones they want to subjugate. Any excuse will serve, as you see the masses that eat their propaganda up are plenty willing to continue to vote our freedom away.

A person of working age is a useful asset to the leftist agenda. You can’t take your own life when you body belongs to dear leader.
