U.S. Cities Prepare For Nuclear Disaster
Global Security Newswire ^ | December 16, 2009

Posted on 12/16/2009 7:39:56 AM PST by Strategy

While the detonation of a nuclear weapon in the United States is considered highly unlikely, Los Angeles and other U.S. cities are preparing for such a disaster by assessing old bomb shelters and preparing emergency response plans, the Los Angeles Daily News reported Monday.

If when a nuke is detonated in a US city, the resulting chaos will make New Orleans Katrina disaster look like a sunday picnic.

Expect NO help from the government. The elected and appointed officials will be too busy saving their own hides.

I know it's a terrible thing to think, and I apologize to all Freepers living in cities at risk, but shouldn't the headlines read...

Can't tell if this is good news or bad news anymore when it all comes down to which city. LOL

I mean if certain urban areas were taken out the Democrat Party would take the biggest hit of all whatwith vaporized election rolls, cemeteries etc. LOL

Hmmmmm.... How much CO2 is given off in a nuclear blast? Calculate that with the lifetime carbon footprint of a few million americans with 2.5 cars per family and the eventual stimulus in cleanup and reconstruction costs to repopulate in new one child only, 800 square foot eco-pod housing, and electric busses being the only transit system, and I'd say you have Obamatopia.

Yep, he's gonna nuke most of our cities. It's just a matter of carbon offsets.

I know what you mean. Here in Central Kentucky, the only way we’d get fallout might be from St. Louis, but the prevailing winds generally run east-northeast, so we should be safe.

There is a cabinet member in Obie's administration who is endorsing the demolition and relocation of a bunch of cities residents, returning the land to nature.

Nuclear explosions would just fast track his programs.

Another reminder is that this guy claims world population should be at 100 million, no more. You know, to be fair to the earth.

The fact that this bunch doesn't care what the voting public thinks should terrify anyone with a pulse.

Unbeknownst to you, Tidewater happens to be the location of the entire nation's Strategic Tropical-Flavored Lifesaver Candy Stockpile.

And while they do intend to hit it with a nuclear device, they will be using the Gamma-Pain-Ray-Emitter version of the W-32 Nuclear Device, which causes bad Indian Burns and Wedgies but does not cause death.

You are so screwed.

Lemmings. Lets talk about lemmings and a mass suicide of American culture. It used to be there was global stability until the advent of Islamic terrorism. Now we recognize we are under threat by Iran. We are organizing and having drills because of the threat. Today? It is a source of money, arms and expertise to these global groups. So why not just wipe the threat from the earth, the old fashioned way? America USED to police the globe against actions like this. Global threats. The threat has not materialized and will not be realized until there is a smokin hole in the ground. Or multiple smokin holes.

I guess the answer is very simple. Under the new regime “this aint America no more”

I consider myself lucky living in the Tidewater VA area. I don’t think we’ll feel a thing.

Many years ago my son Nick (who we lost in Iraq) and I watched a TV show about nuclear missiles.
He looked at me calmly and asked, "When the rocket bombs come should go up on the roof with a picnic and watch and then we can go be with Jesus.".

He was about 8 at the time and he showed no fear. He was a good son and a good Marine. I am very proud of him and miss him everyday.

I think the luckiest ones will be closest to the blast if it is a massive attack.
But I am convinced strategic strikes on DC and some other sites could benefit the country. It would muck out the stables.

Disclaimer: I do not support terrorist actions or wish harm on anyone except traitors against our great nation.

Don't worry, I'm ready for the zombies.

The bad news is that I live just a few miles off I-65, which is the main interstate between Louisville and Nashville, two of the larger zombie reservations in the region.

I don’t watch much television, but I always made time for ‘Jericho’.

Mandatory viewing in my family. Chuck Baldwin mentioned it, I watched season 1 online, got hooked, bought both seasons on DVD, did family marathons of it.

Best and most valuable fictional show ever on television, as far as I can tell.

It is very useful as a tool to introudce the value of "prepping"", and for teaching what is going to happen when the inevitable consequences of the Obama coup finally manifest.

How well I remember it. I was well into my teens when I stopped worrying about the bomb hitting in the middle of the night. Maybe even my early 20’s. I can remember the fears would creep in when all was dark and quiet.

Thank God that fear is gone, but I will never forget how to Duck and Cover.
