Motorcycle rocket launcher: definitely try at home

Motorcycle_Rocket_launcher.jpgStep one: make extra powerful bottle rockets by mounting model rocket engines to skewers. Step two: make custom launch tubes, spray paint, mount to fairing. Step three: mount launch controller within easy reach. Step four: commence mayhem. Congratulations sir, you've just managed to make motorcycling even more dangerous.

I've always thought that machine guns instead of headlights would work quite well.

After all, the muzzle blast should provide enough temporary illumination to make driving relatively safe.

When I was a kid, we had bottle-rocket wars on our bikes, and so I managed to rig up two small pipes on my handle-bars for launching platforms. The accuracy left something to be desired, of course, though there were direct hits from time to time, and it looked cool.

Oh come on, do you really need two mini-guns? Considering the rate of fire on those things you would be better off dumping the second gun and just carrying the weight in extra ammo for the remaining gun. That little 50 round belt hanging down in the picture is going to go BURP and that's about it.

Now a couple of M2 .50 Cal would be cool. Sure the mini-gun has style, but I just love the classics.

Frowning takes 68 muscles.
Smiling takes 6.
Pulling this trigger takes 2.
I'm lazy.

One of, if not THE worst, movie I’ve ever seen. I saw that stinker in the theater when I was in high school, and I still lament the $3 and 90 minutes that are gone forever.

Am I the only guy here who thinks this actually looks like a pretty good idea?

I always imagined an M79 rigged up like an exhaust pipe would be cool for tailgaiters.

“Model rocketry has a defined safety code that requires a safe recovery of the rocket. Also, you are not to have an on board explosive device not associated with recovering the model. The engines also are designed and tested to work within defined parameters.”

I guess people who tape a rocket engine and firecrackers to a balsa wood stick are not following the Model Rocket Safety Code?

I glued fins and a nose cone to a D-12 engine once. I think it’s orbiting space junk now.

Yes, I remember that show.
The Dad from The Brady Bunch was in it: Robert Reed.
Funny how 2 little wings unfolding in the backs of those vehicles enabled flight.

A friend of mine did a complete overhaul of his Spyder as a tribute to our armed forces. His exhaust pipe was tipped with a machine gun mechanism that rotated and machine guns off the front. He was pulled over numerous times by police who received complaints. Unreal. He has since sold it, but below is a pic of it. He did an amazing job.
