Palin supports McCain '100 percent' [Palin pushes back at TMZ 'disprespect' meme]
Politico ^ | Dec. 16, 2009 | Mike Allen

Posted on 12/16/2009 4:38:39 PM PST by Al B.

Declaring that she “was honored and proud to run with him,” former Alaska governor Sarah Palin pushed back hard Wednesday against a report that she had disrespected Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) by blacking out his name on a sun visor she wore on vacation.

The website TMZ accused Palin of “a frontal attack on Sen. John McCain” during a Hawaii vacation this week: “Sarah chose to wear a visor from her campaign -- a visor that was emblazoned with the former presidential candidate's name ... that is, until Palin redacted McCain's name with a black marker.”

But Palin said in a statement to POLITICO that she was just trying to “be incognito” -- to go unrecognized and shield her children and husband, Todd, from paparazzi.

The hotel where she was staying had to chase away five photographers, a friend said.

Palin said in the statement to POLITICO: “I am so sorry if people took this silly incident the wrong way. I adore John McCain, support him 100 percent and will do everything I can to support his reelection. As everyone knows, I was honored and proud to run with him. And Todd and I were with him in D.C. just a week ago. So much for trying to be incognito."

The Palins were taking a break from a three-and-a-half-week book tour for her million-copy-selling memoir, “Going Rogue: An American Life.” Palin has signed more than 59,000 books -- an average of 1,750 per stop -- and has traveled more than 19,000 miles by plane and bus. She has spent 115 hours -- or 4.8 days -- signing books in 33 cities in 25 states. Her stops have included five military bases.

I still didn’t hear you man up and tell the world who you support.... Cute DODGE, but still a dodge.

JD Freakin Hayworth, you illiterate moron!

If you can't or won't read what I write, or can't understand it, please don't post to me.

And apologies, I see where I did literally say "selling out", though I didn't mean it literally, in the sense that she was selling them down the river for some personal gain. What I meant was "letting down the other 300,000,000 Americans" by supporting McCain for a precious Senate seat.

Really, did you HONESTLY THINK, while I’m talking about you calling Sarah a sellout, that I wanted to know who you support in the AZ Senate race? Please...

Did you actually think for one second that she would support JD Hayworth over McCain, who gave her an opportunity that not many people are fortunate enough to have? Read her book, she is extremely loyal to McCain and that is never going to change. Do I support McCain, hell no, frankly after the campaign he ran and allowing his idiot handlers to diss and smear Sarah every chance they got, I will never look at him the same again, but you know what, she feels a sense of gratitude towards him. It’s all in her book, she admires him greatly. Anyone who thought she would support the other guy was living in a dream world. This is the one endorsement I disagree with but you know what, she has class and she will always be classy. She has more class then I would ever have living through what she has been through. She doesn’t have a mean bone in her body.

From her book, I get the impression that McCain was good to her personally, but that he had clearly lost control of his campaign-- run by dishonest lowlifes whom McCain apparently trusted way too much.

She had nothing bad to say about McCain anywhere in her book but was uniformly positive and respectful, even while questioning the strategy and tactics implemented by is a-hole "buddies."

That may have been too charitable of her--I would guess it was--- but it conflicts with any scenario of her doing some petty act of disrespect, especially this far after the fact.

Just more Media masturbation on the blogs.

She will always be loyal to McCain. No matter what his people say about her or even McCain himself, she will never say one mean thing about him. Even when that idiot Andrea Mitchell during her book signing told her that McCain had taken sides with Wallace and Schmidt(even though they had not, it was a lie) Sarah said “I will always support John McCain” so even then, when given the opportunity to slam him, she did not do it, why, because she has class. More class then I would ever have, but hey that’s just me. I don’t know what the hell people were smoking who actually believed she would support JD Hayworth. Her #1 loyalty will always be with McCain.

All of you whining over Palin's statement re: McCain's re-election - take a chill pill! She is not going to go out of her way and campaign for him or give speeches on his behalf! She will remain neutral, keep thanking McCain for the opportunity, but will stay out of the race and let the people of AZ decide. Her statement is a very good one which keeps people guessing. Never underestimate Sarah!

Yup. Sarah displays integrity, one manifestation of which is personal loyalty. Too bad the dweebish Palin bashers here don't get that. They all wannabe pundits.

Allow me to make one more attempt, Sarah is a “SELLOUT” to you, so, who do YOU SUPPORT FOR PRESDIENT IN 2012. I’m not an illiterate moron, but I can’t believe you couldn’t understand what I was asking after I asked “is that you Mitt”. I didn’t realize that it wasn’t clear as the nose on my face.

You don’t have to answer, but don’t act like it’s because I’m an illiterate moron...

No one has even talked about what is on her shirt, which I think deserves its own thread. It said something to the effect of “If you don’t love it here in America get the hell out” I gotta get me a shirt like that

Indeed. It looks bad when you walk away from an experience without anything positive to say about anyone involved.

It looked HORRIBLE when the McCain staff was making remarks about her “going rogue”, and then bad mouthed her after their loss. She set the record straight on that, turned lemons into lemonade and is STILL friendly with McCain.

Class.

Well said!!! However I still think McCain should spank his daughter every time she bad mouths Sarah. Also it`s hard to forget the late night talk show that McCain was on when he basically trashed Sarah.

Actually, you may well be wrong. If McCain’s only hope for re-election is Palin, he’ll call her and ask her to come campaign for him. If he calls her, she will campaign for him. I would expect her to, she OWES him that much. Hell, she tried to get him Elected president!
