College prof: Christian crosses like swastikas

A student says a Dallas public community-college teacher compared crosses to swastikas while explaining a school ban on religious items made in ceramics classes.

I looked up American Indian uses of the swastika once. Forgot most of it. But I think all instances of its use were positive.

I would love to see the Montana Club just to appreciate the western construction and craftsmenship of that time.

The real issue here is why taxpayers are being forced to subsidize ceramics classes at all. It’s not like there are jobs waiting for people who graduate from community college with the “skill” of knowing how to make ceramic vases and bowls and stuff by hand. And there certainly are jobs waiting for those who graduate with paramedical skills, accounting skills, and mastery of various other serious subject matter. Taxpayers shouldn’t be forced to subsidize lengthy extensions of childhood for young adults who simply refuse to get serious about preparing to be productive, self-sufficient members of society.

This will probably be a bit "out there" for most, and I offer it not as a certainty or even a belief but as a "hmmm, interesting thought" kind of thing.

Maybe the Nazis made a mistake using a symbol that means good fortune etc, by cultures all over the world, as the standard for their campaign of evil and destruction.

On the same theme; the Islamo-Nazis that blew up the Bamiyan Buddha statues in Afghanistan are all dead now. They blowed up real good too! lol

It’s a gorgeous 5 story brick building in downtown Helena. The main dining area is on the second floor with high ceilings, a big fireplace and chandeliers. There is a private dining room on the fifth floor with balconies overlooking the town. The 3rd and fourth floors are office space. In the basement there is a rathskeller that is sometimes used for mystery dinners with live actors.

Helena has quite a number of Victorian buildings built during the gold rush days of 1870-1900. I lived there for 5 years. There’s a restaurant on the main street that used to be Big Dorothy’s Brothel, when prostitution was still legal in Montana.
