Pentagon: Insurgents intercepted drone spy videos

WASHINGTON – Insurgents in Iraq and Afghanistan have hacked into live video feeds from Predator drones, a key weapon in a Pentagon spy system that serves as the military's eyes in the sky for surveillance and intelligence collection.

Though militants could see the video, there is no evidence they were able to jam the electronic signals from the unmanned aerial craft or take control of the vehicles, a senior defense official said Thursday, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss sensitive intelligence issues.

Obtaining the video feeds can provide insurgents with critical information about what the military may be targeting, including buildings, roads and other facilities.

But the Iraqi insurgents cannot hack this.

The U.S. Army Aviation should employ COIN aircraft like the unhackable OV-10 instead of hackable UAVs.

‘remotely flown planes had unprotected communications links.’

Some cordless home phones have encrypted feedback and Pentagon, inc. doesn’t run their drones with encryption? UNREAL.

How about plausibly real video feeds? Get the bad boys to pose on a roof or ridge waiting for the show to begin....
Kinda like the scene from Red October where the Rusky shoots himself.

The DOD should hire them to teach basic OPSEC to people who should know better.

Might be more effective if the muzzies get to watch the missle come down the stovepipe of the mud hut they are lurking in.

As soon as we realized this, we should have immediately started broadcasting “dummy” drone footage on those same frequencies, so those morons would be intercepting false drone info. This would be simple to do, and could give us the opportunity to make them think we were searching somewhere insignificant... making them come out of hiding and then *WHAMMO*
