There’s a liquor store in Sycamore, IL that has a great selection of bourbons. But I don’t get that way often anymore. The next time I do, I’ll look for it. Here where I’m at, there’s far less a selection. Some good stuff, though...

Please don't drink and derive.

Good one.

Hmmm... Belvedere or Maker’s Mark.... nice choices to have. Add in Patron and you have a nice evening.

Abner Doubleday had absolutely nothing to do with baseball. Also vodka is not made from potatoes. As for weasel piss, it's an acquired taste.

Wrong! (and most unpatriotic) Abner Doubleday was a General Officer of the US Army. He was assigned to baseball, and even though dead, he followed orders. Good man, that Doubleday. Had he lived, I am sure he would have come to know and love the game. (At last roll call, he was still dead and the Army boys were still playing baseball.)

Correct! Many alcoholic beverages, vodka not among them, can somehow be made from potatoes, beets, etc.by various shady peasants in Ireland, The Slavic Lands, and Europe. I have drunk them.

They taste just like weasel piss (or skunk). I would consider it a Christmas favor if you would not ask me how I know that. A word of advice from a senior man: do not bother acquiring that particular taste.

Tech Notes:
(1)... Citroen hydraulic fluid is actually cheap brandy, or at least smells mighty like it. Educated by the French Christian Brothers, I know cheap brandy. Required for Citroen and Rolls-Royce/Bentley suspension maintenance.
Holiday Travel Tip: If your Rolls starts handling sloppily, try topping off the suspension reservoirs with Christian Brothers Brandy.
(2).... The French Government, required by their loi to buy up excess wine production, now has several dozen (or hundred) million (or billion) gallons on hand, a lot of which also tastes like weasel piss, and will be turning it into brake fluid, various industrial alcohols, and for all we know, baby formula.

Ouzo 12 my drink of choice. Great fortifier for some of those “MUST DO “ Christmas parties . Some demand a show with “jewels on display” and not a care in the world. Getting ready for one right now.

Rum makes me mean, beer makes me mean and sleepy. Vodka and tequila make me happy and impressionable and wine makes me simmer.
