NEW YORK -- Considered one way, Charles Gibson 's career in TV news seems to be a model of stability: 34 years logged with one employer, ABC. There, he did his job well and rose to the top echelon of his profession, forming a firm bond with his viewers and offering his gracious signoff, "I hope you had a good day."
On the other hand, Gibson, who Friday retires from the "World News" anchor desk and from ABC as a full-time employee, is bowing out as more than an admired network news star.
At 66, he's a proven utility player, game to handle a range of positions and scramble to the rescue when needed.

Don’t let the door hit you on the way out Charlie.
“he’s a proven utility player”
That’s another way of saying,”he’s a tool”.
Went out giving Gore a Lewinski over his poem....YUK!! Good Riddance Charlene!!
Say Sarah Palin twice and see Charlie Retard foam in the mouth.
So now I will be avoiding Diane Sawyer when I switch to Family Guy during the national news
Good riddance to bad rubbish.
I know he’s “one of them”, but I always liked him. Seemed like a nice guy. I dont think I’ve watched Network news in a long, long time so my opinion is based on perceptions from long ago.
And from my wife who has worked with a bunch of folks that ended up at the networks. He was one of the better ones that she has met. And since I am the best that she met, he must be pretty good.
PLEASE ADD BARF ALERT
I never watched Charlie Gibson, with the exception of when he interviewed Sarah Palin. The little opinion of him I had crashed to the ground after I saw how he treated Sarah will utter contempt and disrespect.
It’s a good thing he’s gone from ABC.
More importantly; today I broke a finger nail.
Charlie Gibson is a complete putz.
I have nothing but contempt for him.
Thank goodness! The looking-over-the-glasses thing in a bleak attempt to appear intelligent wore thin months ago (a la Sarah). Talk about galling!!!
Glad to see him go. Hopefully he’ll stay gone.
Gibson, the Biased ABC Media Bully [looking down his nose from up on high]:
"Please take off your American flag pin. The American flag is an abomination now prohibited by ABC News."
"The Times got it wrong. And Charlie Gibson got it wrong.
There is no single meaning of the Bush doctrine. In fact, there have been four distinct meanings,
each one succeeding another over the eight years of this administration--
and the one Charlie Gibson cited is not the one in common usage today.
...... I know something about the subject because, as the Wikipedia entry
on the Bush doctrine notes, I was the first to use the term."
Obama's Puff-piece interview:
How does it feel to break a glass ceiling?
How does it feel to win?
How does your family feel about your winning breaking a glass ceiling?
Who will be your VP?
Should you choose Hillary Clinton as VP?
Will you accept public finance?
What issues is your campaign about?
Will you visit Iraq?
Will you debate McCain at a town hall?
What did you think of your competitors [Clinton] speech?
Palin's 'kangaroo court' interview:
Do you have enough qualifications for the job youre seeking?
Specifically have you visited foreign countries and met foreign leaders?
Arent you conceited to be seeking this high level job?
Questions about foreign policy
-territorial integrity of Georgia
-allowing Georgia and Ukraine to be members of NATO
-Iranian nuclear threat
-what to do if Israel attacks Iran
-Al Qaeda motivations
-the Bush Doctrine
-attacking terrorists harbored by Pakistan
Is America fighting a holy war? [misquoted Palin]
"Charles Gibson of ABC News was out for blood and inherently applied
a double-standard compared with the kid gloves George Stephanopoulos
used on Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois on Sunday night.
Gibson was out to embarrass Palin and expose her presumed ignorance from the word go. "
"While it's true that Governor Palin is of less stature than Mr. Gibson,
the deliberate choice of the camera's height, framing and the use of
telephoto lenses all serve to make Mr. Gibson look overpowering
and Governor Palin the weak prey. This is common shooting technique
we use to make a villain appear more ominous."
"Interesting choice of ties for Charlie.

Salesmanship 102 - When you face an adversary, and you seek to control them, wear red.
Freeper N. Theknow (Obama without a teleprompter speaks in tongues.)
Thank goodness he’s gone. Buh bye.
Hey charlie enough already
